top 10 lists

Ok so the idea came up in a fourm that we should have our own top 10 list of most accurate guns before you post make sure you include in your list
1-rifles you have shot in groups of no less then 3 shots
2-try to list the exact model with any mod(s)
3-the closer to stock the better
4-type of round used
5-keep it clean don't bash other peoples skill or choices in their top 10 list

In all seriousness...

As a group, Remingtons are probably the most accurate standard rifles I have seen. I have also seen a lot of custom rifles or nice ones with tailored loads that would dog any Remington. I couldn't begin to answer your questions in any systematic way. I'm only 36, and I have seen some nice rifles and even better marksmanship.

I reload, and I like really tight chambers with minimal leade. This improves accuracy and aids in loading. (At the very least, the brass lasts a long time.) Realistically, you would have to pay big money to gurantee that, or just kind of luck into a good one by trial and error.

As I'm getting older, I'm starting to think about weight and recoil more than anything. My father is closing in on 70, and he can't shoot anything much heavier than a standard 12 ga. load anymore.

Lists like these only really matter if they've been compiled by experienced shooters who have really tried out all the guns in question. Also, the guns all need to be of a similar type. There's no point in comparing the accuracy of a 10/22 and a Mauser.
