On hog meat, what weight does the hog become tough meat to eat? I've heard the little ones taste better, but where do you draw the line for optimal flavor versus weight balance. I have the opportunity to hunt them in N. California and am trying to balance the trophy vs cuisine. I prefer cuisine, but at guided hunt prices, well, you know, I want both. For my wife and I, one of each may be the ticket.
Is it like alaska where the huge flounder are fun to catch, but the 30-40lb'rs are what you save for the freezer?
If I lived in hog country it would hard be home on the weekends.
