These became legal for ML hunts in TN. I am intrigued as I have never done ML hunting before but do get some nice bucks on my property during ML season but they never seem show up during rifle season.

Has anyone been using one? Worth the hype? BS all the way around? Too much money for the value?

Please let me know what you think.

If you are intimidated by muzzleloaders just go to your local gun club and strike up a conversation with someone shooting one.
They more than likely would be happy to share some knowledge.
Loading and using a muzzleloader is not very complicated and simple to get down.

I remember people saying the same thing about 209 primed inlines...

Someone will come along and make a reloadable Firestick cartridge and then things get really interesting and cost effective.

$3.20 for 10, plus primer, plus bullet, so maybe $3.75-$4 a shot? And they say the cases are not reloadable.

If for nothing more the price would turn me off. I'm surprised Federal agreed to produce these, I could be wrong, but at this point, to me, it looks like a sure loser.

But, but, it will get someone interested in our sport.....
I WAS a totally traditional BP hunter from about '68 on. Flintlock, round ball, etc.
Then, I bought a bolt action ml on closeout and shot it a little. Impressed. Gave it to my son who has shot a few deer with it. I had gone more modern, to a Browning Mountain Rifle, percusion.
Job kept me from hunting for a few years, ml shooting died out around here and I shotgun hunted the few times I could.
Retired, bought land, get landowners tags, hunt when I want. Won an inline. Still use black, lead, and open sights.
I absolutely think the fire stick thing is an abomination. I thought the same about CVA electric ignition.
Right now, when I go out I reach for something that matches my mood. Feeling lazy, the 220 Savage. Feeling lucky, the PSE recurve. Really lucky, 50 flinter. Feeling like a yuppie, the inline and I gel what little hair I have left.
I remember a number of years back when somebody announced the Ultimate Muzzle Loader, effective to 500 yards. I laughed. Ain't one out of a hundred that can dope the drop for a fifty at 500 and hit that loaf of bread.
Bad Stan. Long rant. Little information.
Short answer, a gimmick. Wait and see.
Next they will have something like a self contained cartridge.

I don't want one, seems like mostly a gimmick.
I do like the idea of easily unloading without firing for safety, especially if traveling with it.
I also don't disparage the idea for those that might have an interest in it.
If there are folks that want one I hope they make enough for them all, and more power to them.
