hey all good to be back, i've got a traditions evolution, older one i've had for 5 or 6 yrs and i shoots sabots poorly but everytime i try something else it won't shoot. i've tried conicals like the 300gr buckslayers, ballets, powerbelts, even patched round balls, i konw they are not made for the fast twist, but it shots horrible with sabots. but every time i try something else it wont seal hence the patched round ball try, the powder just "puffs" and the bullet or ball falls 5 feet from the gun because of no gas seal. i use 100gr triple seven pellets and a 240gr 45cal sabot and it does fine but the groups are 5 shots in about 18in every time. any ideas????:banghead:

You might need to try other brand sabots. My Green Mtn sabot barrel seems to prefer the thicker sabots that use 44 cal bullets of 250gr. On the bench I get 1" to 1 1/2" groups at 50yds, Powerbelts get 5"+ at the same range and conicals are 7"to 10". Different barrels, even with same twist, work best with different combinations. This is a 50cal.

mykeal, it's a 490 round ball with a 15 patch, it's almost as if the bore is over sized. robhof, i might just give that a try and see how it goes.
