Some time back I built a rig for a customer down in Texas. Much to my surprise, along with the payment was a copy of "Packing Iron". While looking through the book I decided it might be fun to build a holster inspired by and as a kind of tribute to the California holster makers of the 1870s. This holster is a combination of several holsters from various makers of the era. This is not likely to become a production item, but it was a fun project. Besides, I did kind of "need" a new holster for my Navy.

Nice holster. Is it lined?

I have an 1860 Army that needs a holster. This is a good time of year to make something like that. I'm going to do a slim jim style crossdraw.
