Hi guys, first post although i've lurked for years. I trying to trim to size some .30-06 lake city brass on my forster and the #30 case guide, the one that goes through the mouth, seems to be sticking more than usual as in hard to remove when done trimming. Was wondering if the LC brass is just thicker on these or is the #30 the wrong one to use. Just curious to see if anyone has run into this.
thanks.

Manny,
I've run into that with several calibers of brass, what I have found is that the pilot may have backed ever so slightly out of the cutter. Removing, cleaning and reinstalling may help. I also found that if I put too much pressure on the cutter as I turn it, the brass kinda smears forming ridge around the case mouth, that makes withdrawing the pilot harder. Lighten up on the pressure the last couple turns of the cutter.

Some brass will still have a lot of crimp left. That will make it tight as well.
