Triple B Clays Review & Pictures

Triple B Clays is located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles. It's off the 60 near the 605. I believe it's the old Pachmayr Range. They have trap, skeet, 5-stand and sporting clays.

I was there to shoot sporting clays, but there must have been a couple of hundred people there to shoot skeet. To each his own.

Much has been said about Triple B, both good and bad. All I saw was the good.

They have a nice pro shop, with a restaurant next door. The pro shop was my first stop. I was going to shoot 100, so they gave me a debit card and instructions on how to use it.

I met the "famous" Bruce on station 1. We talked for a few minutes and he didn't even assault me for stuff I've put on the internet. :)

The course is mostly flat, heavily wooded and setup in a semicircle. Yes that’s right; right in the middle of LA and it is heavily wooded. It’s great, lots of shade and plenty of scenery. There are 14 stations and all have 3 fully automatic machines. Each has an "A", "B", & "C†machine (beginner, intermediate and expert).

At each station you can throw your own menu. You can throw singles, report pairs and true pairs. You can even set your own difficulty level by throwing “A", "B", or "C" targets.

Being the friendly guy I am, I hooked up with a nice bunch of guys that were about to shoot. They further explained how the debit card worked and how the course was setup. We shot all 14 stations and had a good time. They were really friendly and even gave me some pointers.

Stations 1 thru 10 are pretty straightforward. Stations 11 thru 14 will test you. They actually kicked my butt. But hey, now I know what I need to work on. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I will be back.

Triple B holds their monthly shoot on the first Sunday of the month. They are even holding the CA. State Shoot there in 2004. Give them a try, you won't be sorry.
