One of my LGS sends a periodic emailmout announcing sales etc. this last email caught my eye simply because prices were closer to to pre "scare" levels. The particular items that were of interest to me were
1) 9 mm XDs-499$ ( the kit)
2) 9 mm XD standard (the kit) -399$
3) dpms oracle 308 -1038$
4) rem model 700 tactical 308 599$
5) also had a used Christensen Arms AR-15 223 -2500$
Walked in, handled them all, none of them gave me a tingle, didnt connect with any of them. So i walked.
However,,, they DID have a socom 16, 1799$,, i almost bit, but walked away. I looked at socom last, by then, my excitement had ebbed. It will probably follow me home soon.

I did the same on a Sig M11 A1 P228 yesterday. I decided my twenty year old P226 was good enough. Am I really getting that old and senile?

Ha! My thoughts yesterday!! I told myself "I allready have a XD subcompact in 40 cal, do i really need another one in a different caliber?" I was just glad to see prices starting to resemble normal again.
