I've heard a ton of good buzz on the board about the PTR-91 G3-copy by JLD Enterprise ( www.jldenter.com)
A lot of folks indicate that the HBAR barrel is a little heavier than ideal, particularly since the G3 is not a light rifle to begin with.
Has anyone tried "turning down" the PTR-91 barrel, fluting it, or any other option? Or is the HBAR barrel really not that much of a problem?
Have not fired a PTR or HK-91, but really loved the G3 I got a chance to fire. Purchase is on the back-burners since I just got a Dissipator AR. Actually, it was the Dissy that prompted me to ask the question: folks always complained that Dissys were nose-heavy, so KKF started turning-down Dissy barrels for $50, and Bushmaster eventually offered an M4-profile Dissipator barrel after great interest was shown on www.ar15.com
So, JLD owners, just how heavy is that barrel, and is there a workaround?
