I bought a Romanian Army training rifle, bolt action. Model 69, for $69.95. So ugly I felt sorry for it. Turned out to be a practical rifle.
When Dad and I went to the mounatain to visit family and his old neighbors, every farm house had at least one .22 bolt action rifle, the most useful and practical firearm type ever. Except for the single barrel breakdown hammerfired 12ga.
On the rifle illustrated, I like the stamping on the barrel. ".22 Cal. - S.L. anb LR," very Oriental and exotic. (Yes, I acknowledge my Japanese calligraphy is worse than their English. But "anb" for "and" is like Wauser for Mauser)
"chrome bolt does look kinda cheesy {yuch}"
[sarcasm]Yeah, I prefer my used rifles with plain steel rusty bolt handles.[/sarcasm] Oh, come on. I remember chrome plated bolt handles on the store brand .22 rifles on the racks at the Advance Store, Western Auto, Sears, JC Penney.
