Most sites wont send ammo if you are under 21. Your best bet might be to try walmart....and just say they are for a rifle. Guess it just depends on the round as well.
Learn to enjoy shooting rifles until you're 21. You just can't buy pistol ammo. I know it's stupid as many pistol rounds are also chambered in rifles and some rifle stuff is chambered in pistols, but the law doesn't have to make sense. I'm sure the mail-order sellers are just erring on the side of caution. There's just not enough sub-21 year olds buying to make it worth their while to put their license in jeopardy, so they just don't sell any ammo to anyone under 21.
I ordered some ammo and it arrived at my door in 4 days and i didnt even have to sign for it even though it clearly stated ammution on the packing sticker.
I am over 21 but they never asked me to send proof of age or the like
well one gun i want is a 1894c, im guessing when i buy it they can sell .357 at the same time, but it will be hard in the future to buy more ammo. It sucks the long stretch from 18-21. When I turn 21 ill have a good cd clearing though. time for a buying spree
IDK they won't hand me ammo over the counter here unless it's a newbie but I've walked up to the cash register with a hand basket FULL of shotgun and rifle ammo and I buy ammo quite often without an ID check and I'm not even 18 lol. I suggest getting a friend or relative that's older than 21 to order it and just pay them.
The 18/21/rifle/handgun ammo law never made sense to me. There are rifles chambered for handgun cartridges, and handguns chambered for rifle cartridges.
I just did rifles till I turned 21, and it was ok. Try gun shows for X54R. You can usually find it pretty cheap. Also, for any other ammo, try walmart. They always asked if the .22LR I was buying was for a rifle or a pistol, and I always told them rifle. I wonder if they'd believe that the 9mm you want is for a rifle?
Try local shops. When I was 18-21, I visited a local place once a week or so. The counter guys were happy to sell me 9mm for my MP5, .45ACP for my UMP, .357 for my 1894, etc etc...
Worse comes to worse, straw purchase the stuff. Unlike a gun bought in this fashion, it IS legal to have an adult pay for your ammo. Remember, the law says you can't buy, but it doesn't say you can't possess.
