I noticed that Underwood ammunition switched from offering the Lehigh Defense Extreme Cavitator to the Extreme Defender. I was curious if anybody has done some testing with the new offering? I can't find a single youtube video about it and how it does. I am also curious what the OAL measures out to. Thanks in advance for the help. Below is a link to the new product:

For those who want to suggest just using FMJ ammo, I don't want to use it for defense and am researching alternative options in a non-expanding format with better performance than FMJ. No this is not my primary carry gun either.

I haven't seen any testing relating to the Underwood ammo, but if I was looking for 32acp ammo with better performance than FMJ I would look at a wide nose flat point bullet such as Buffalo Bore's offerings.

Great to hear. That is the exact gun I planned to use it for. I still don't see any test results online. I have done quite a bit of searching of youtube videos and blog posts. All I can find is information for .380 and 9mm, not .32 ACP.

Try this, there are a few more. Also notice in the picture, the Defender is the same as the Cavitator.

PS I just ordered three more boxes of the Plus P.

Jeb I did read that article at one point. Thanks for linking it. Where did you hear that the Defender and the Cavitator are the same? I am lead to believe that they may be similar in performance but I would like to actually see some ballistic gel results from the Defender in .32, if for nothing else than entertainment. I may have to do a side-by-side comparison myself if no videos come up.

I cannot speak for the Leheigh, or what they are selling now. But as you say, I would imagine close to the same thing. The Underwood Defender and the Cavitator are the same ammo as you can see from the two boxes labeled differently but the same. I think Underwood just changed the name.

These were Leigh bought from a different company, (midway) and they say Cavitator.

I ordered directly from Underwood and ordered two boxes of Defender, but you can see they sent one of each but the same bar code and same ammo. just different label.

Lol, it was very confusing to me at first. The Leheigh does have a different shape than the Underwood in 32.cal but the same bullet as the Underwood in 380. I I have not mislead you. My Bad. Sorry .

Yeah my friend ordered what he thought was extreme cavitator from Underwood and got a box of extreme defenders. He was confused too. It seems to me that Underwood is cycling through the extreme cavitators until they run out and then will sell the extreme defenders only. Thanks for the info Jeb.

Wish Underwood would put out an equivalent to Buff Bore's 75gr hard cast lead flat point .32ACP. Not a fan of the light copper slugs put out by Lehigh Defense.

I think the name has changed only. Look at both boxes above, Cavitator and Defender. Same exact round.
