Hey Group,

I've been reading the site at work but I've not had a chance to write. I am the Kidd with the Llama problem. I own them, shoot them , love them. I have two and they work very well for me. I also own and carry a Taurus PT111 in 9mm. Again I love it, it has never failed in any way. Well, I wish I could tell you I've reformed, but that would be a lie.

I have now purchased TWO Star Model B 9mm pistols. I love 'em. For $130 (plus shippingand compensation for the FFL) I got a pistol and three mags. The finish is 90% on one and 80% on the other, but the bbls are perfect(to the naked eye)and they DO NOT FAIL. OK so I've only shot each one about 200rnds but I like 'em. They feel 'right ' in my hand and ammo is cheap. And the triggers are great. Good for 'end of the world' guns. Or just plinking.

To make matters worse I also bought a Romanian Md95 in .380 ACP.NIB with a spare mag $120. Came just dripping with oil, took forever to clean. Has a hammer drop safety, the double action SUCKS but after that OK. 95 gr FMJ is all Wally World had so I ran 50 rnds through it w/o any failure.

If I had a point it would be to buy whatever you can afford and SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT.

Gotta go clean new pistol. Bye

Kidd,
Are you at liberty to say where you acquired your STAR Mod. B's for those prices? When you get a chance to shoot them, I'd love an accuracy/reliability report. I've been thinking of getting one as a holster gun to wear around my cabin up north.
Have fun with your new irons:D

You Kidd know, as long as you are enjoying your guns you've got no one else to worry about! Congrats on the new additions!

Vanfunk,

And anyone else who's reading. I'm sorry that my earlier more eloquent letter was lost wherever it is they go when your ISP kicks you off the net. I found the Star pistols in a flyer a man at work had. It was from South (ern?) Ohio Guns. They use SOG for a logo. The pistols are just great. See, I'm old fashioned, I like .45 and I like 9mm. The Star seemed like it would be the best of both. Like I said, the finish is worn but mechanically they are fine. The two I have haven't had any problems. I've only used 124 and115 gr hardball in them but no problems at all. I am not the best shot in the world but they will stay in three or four inches at fifty feet. That is shooting off hand and l haven't had them long enough to really get 'tuned in' to them. Oh, the wooden grip panels are really worn but that may evolve into a 'project' this winter.

Since I'm still on line I want to say the Mod 95 has a funny sort of thumb shelf that makes you think the slide will bite but so far so good, I'll let you know after the first 1k rnds.
