So a issue I have experienced primarily being a bullet caster and like wise cast bullet loader
Is when I bell the case mouth with a M DIE I get a wonderful fit and alignment and the proced to run case into seater die and now I have a shaved lead ring and NY cartridge looks like crap.

I was loading 38 special and this happened so I found a çh 45 acp seating die body and switch the seating stem for 38 shoulder seater style and proceed to seat bullets with NO SHAVINGS.

I can only figure the 38 special seating die is removing my bell and causing this.

Would a die with say an internal ID of .562 with lee style button stems cut to fit the bullet being used be a good idea and fix all of LEE stupid 0 ring nuts and non lockable seating rod threads?

There's a few things you can try to avoid shaving in the seater, which is a problem I've also had.

You can run the stem the whole way down and adjust with the die body only. This hopefully gets the bullet well on its way down before the brass goes into the die mouth.

I've used the mighty armory seating die as a semi universal seater in .38 and .40. Works particularly well with flat nose bullets.

I've also found the Dillon seater dies are cut more generously at the mouth and don’t give me an issue, that's what I use for .45.
