I'm not sure if this is the place for it, but, here goes:

I am considering acquiring a K31, and equipping it with a St. Marie style clamp mount so I can attach a scope. The perspective optic in question is the Accumounts repro of the Russian PE scope- an excellent repro optic for the price, so I am told. Anyway, the tube of the scope is 27mm in diameter. The dovetail on the clamp mount is 3/8". Is there any stock ring that will fit this scope and mount, or am I looking at something that would require some shimming and so on? I am not, by any means, well versed in mounting optics. I have done some looking around, but I can't find anything that fits the scope- plenty of rings that fit a 3/8" dovetail, though.

Mods, feel free to move this should it be more appropriate elsewhere.

Thanks,

-Chris

30mm Weaver Tip-off rings for a 3/8" dovetail .22RF or 11mm Air-Rifle would be as close as anything you could get.

You would have to shim the rings .118" to fit the smaller tube.

The only other option is 1" Tip-Off rings reamed out to 1.063" / 27mm.

I would be more apt to buy beefy 1" rings and bore them out if you have the equipment or know someone capable of the work. But that's just me.

I have a Kahles in 27mm and finally gave up on buying off the shelf. In the infrequent lucky search returns over the years - the few times a 27mm would come up - the would be provider is either out of stock or delaying production. I finally took a pair of 25 or 26.5 rings out with an adjustable reamer and they've worked quite well.

Your BEST bet is to find a CREATIVE, Machinist/toolmaker/ gunsmith willing to tackle your job.
Too bad you live so far away as I'll do the job for FREE and my Italian wife would do what Italians do best and that is to FEED you.`
Good luck in your evdevor .
