ok, i just got a mailbox at a UPS store.. it is not a PO box, rather a mailbox with a street address...

now i cant ship ammo at the store, the signs say so.... but can i receive ammo and/or C&R shipments?

I've had mixed experience with this. For ammo, I have received it (not sure if it was legal, but it was sent from a large supplier so I'm assuming it is). With rifles, My FFL at the time received them for me.

As for shipping, I had to ship a rifle and had to ship it from the UPS hub (PITA).

yes, you can receive anything that UPS will ship. i own an independent, non-brand name store like the UPS store and rent PMB's also. i have several customers that get ammo all the time. if it shows up on the truck, they should sign for it for you.

ok, the store manager didnt know... i asked upfront, and they couldnt even find anything in the written policies... lol... got some weird looks, but after i told them that i was working on being a NRA instructor, the manager started asking about where she could get training...

i work at The UPS Store. Bobarino is correct. even if they dont "allow" it, we have no idea whats in the box anyway, we just sign for the package and put a slip in your box letting you know its there, so it doesnt really matter. as long as state and federal laws are followed, youll be fine.

What address is on your origional license?

dotn have a C&R yet... so none...

ok, i was just wondering, namely after seeing the whole CO shooter thing about how UPS called the cops because he got 3 boxes of ammo delivered... i plan on becoming a NRA instructor within the next 6 months, so im damn sure going to be ordering more than 3 boxes at a time lol

The UPS store where I keep my mailbox is run by two avid club shooters so that's no help.

When you do make your ammo purchase, call over the phone to the seller and make sure that it it 'anonymously wrapped' so it does not arouse any suspicion.

IIRC the address on your C&R must be your residence ... not your place of business, not your parent's residence but YOUR residence.

Actually the address on your C&R needs to be where the collection and bound book are stored, doesn't have to be your residence. So no you can't use a PMB address on it, unless that's where you are storing your collection & bound book.

ETA: It appears you can have 2 addresses on your C&R. Your physical address and your mailing address. Discussion about it on Surplus Rifles. The application for a C&R does have 2 blocks for your address, labeled "address" and "mailing address".

There was a segment on the local news last night about the New Life Christian Church shooter receiving 40 cal. ammo at his UPS Store mailbox. They played a 911 recording of the store manager (twit) calling to report him getting ammo in the mail at there location. The dispatcher basically told them that it was not illegal and there was nothing they could do. She offered to send an officer over to talk with the manager but the manager declined.

It should have a "ORM-D" small arms ammunition sticker on the package.
