A while back I picked up a Advantage Arms LE 17-22 convention and built a G17 Polymer 80 frame for it. 570D918E-8E04-4AE4-9389-2768D6B46C19.jpeg

It’s fun to shoot but I kept thinking about getting a 9mm slide and barrel for the frame. But all the slides I looked at were plain vanilla or full of super fancy cuts.
A buddy of mine told me about US Patriot Armory. He said they had some nice looking slides At a good price.
I check them out and liked the look of their standard slide. The top edges were milled. They had front and rear serrations, and a little milling on the sides.
I then told myself that I really didn’t need another 9mm and put it on the back burner.
I ended up buying three more 9mm handguns. A HKVP9, S&W M&P M2.0 and a Sig M18. After buying those, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have another 9mm handgun. Hell, it’s only money.;)
I already had a Glock 17 slide parts kit from AIM Surplus sitting in my shop. So I placed an order for a slide and barrel kit from US Patriot Armory.

The kit arrived today. I had them do 5he slide in OD green To match the frame.

The parts fit perfectly in the slide, but the barrel was a tight fit at the ejection port. The coating Was keeping the barrel from going all the way into battery. A few light taps with a rubber mallet and everything was good.

I had a issue with the safety plunger that came with the Aim Surplus kit. The spring doesn’t hook into the bottom of the plunger. I was getting an odd trigger pull. I replaced the safety plunger with a Glock plunger ad everything is good now.
I put a few test rounds through it and it’s very accurate. If I don’t go to the range this weekend, I’ll go Monday.

Excellent! I love that .22 kit! Now I need that too! :D

I avoided Glock-type pistols for a long time. But the Polymer 80 frames just look a lot better than the original Glock. So.... what the heck... I just ordered and received a Polymer 80 frame. Same as you have. Waiting to get my slide and barrel from Rock Slide. OD green! They have a pretty good looking slide (not the ones with the big slash cuts in the sides!) with wide bevels forward of the ejection port. Makes the whole thing not look like a Glock. Lower parts seem to have gotten hard to come by (at least at reasonable cost), but I think I managed to scrounge up everything needed from here and there.

Never had a 9mm pistol before either.... and I suppose now is not the best time to try to start shooting 9mm! :D I don't know when or if I'll ever be able to get ammo for it! :D

I did save money by going with the Aim Surplus slide kit, but I don’t recommend it. Just not high quality parts.

I put a hundred rounds through it last week. It shoots pretty good. I’m only having one issue. The slide keeps locking to the rear while shooting. The slide stop spring seems to be week. It’s an extended one that I got from my buddy at work. It was one he had in his parts box. I’m going to change the slide stop before I take it shooting again.
