I have a Uberti 1851 Navy steel .36 on order and have also ordered a Lee bullet mold .375,,,,,, 130 grain conical bullet mold, has any one used these bullets in the Uberti and what type of powder should I use with them?:what:

I've had good results with them in my Uberti Navies. As to powder FFF black or any of the subs works good.

You may experience some difficulty getting the conicals to seat straight using the loading lever. When I use conicals I use a off the frame loading tool. A lot well depend on the shape of the rammer and how well it excepts the conical.

What madcratebuilder said. I tend to forget that as I always load with the cylinder out of the gun.

The LEE mold throws a bullet with rebated driving bands. The bottom one is smaller in diameter than the second one and the top is the widest. On my Uberti '61 Navy the CB seats to the second driving band and aligns well every time. You can smear SPG, Bore Butter or any home made lube into the grooves or use a lube wad. Most of the time I just put an over ball lube and the bore stays pretty clean. I never load off the gun. If the bullet doesn't drop into the chamber to the second or third band then you have an oversize mold or tight chambers. I love the 130gr CB as it is harder hitting for knockdown targets (rare these days). You can only get 15-20 grs powder under the conical in the Colts but a little more (i.e. 22-23grs) in the Remington.
