I've been playing with the 145 grn. ELD-X in ,270 Winchester for 2 years and finally got it to perform the way it does in a creedmoor. Creedmoor rifles barrels, by the way, are built to handle all copper or high copper bullets compared to older guns. My best load in a 2012 Win. Mod. 70 in .270 Win. is a Win. LRP in a Winchester case, loaded with 51 grains of IMR 4350 having the case trimmed back to 2.530 and seating the 145 grain ELD-X at 3.312. This produces consistent sub moa groups at a 100 yards or better. I was getting sticky bolt ejection when loading just over 52 grains. 51 grains of 4350 will yield almost 2800 fps. Varget isn't listed for 140/150 grain bullets. I suspect the reason is because high alloy copper type bullets, like the ELD-X have substantially more rifling contact due to their length, so they will produce a lot more pressure than conventional lead bullets.
