First of all I've been reloading for over 45 years so I do know the ABC's of reloading. Having said that, I have just traded for a pristine Ruger 1AB Rifle in 270 Win with a 22" barrel made in 1983. I want to load the Nosler 130 gr Ballistic Tip bullet and do have most of the popular powders available. Does anyone have any favorite loads with this bullet/powder combo? I do like H4831, H4350 and varget powders. It will be a Pa deer load shooting from a blind. This 1AB seems to be a sweet handling little rifle. :)

The H4831 or H4350 will do you well. Varget works better in other calibers.

I think those two Hodgdon powders are listed by Dan Newberry at the optimal charge weight website.

For Nosler bullets, you can NEVER go wrong using the 'accuracy loads' they list. Either buy their reloading manual, or go to their web site and click the Reloading Data button down at the bottom of the page.
