2015 Lobby Day

Protect Your Gun Rights!

VCDL Lobby Day 2015

Join us in Richmond on Monday, January 19!

If you are a gun owner, plan on attending the Virginia Citizens Defense League’s Lobby Day 2015.

Lobby Day is a day when gun owners speak with one loud voice to the lawmakers about protecting and enhancing our right to keep and bear arms!

We usually have between 600 and 1,000 people attending, but we really want to flood the building this year!
  • When: Monday, January 19, 2015 starting at 8-30 AM
  • Where: Virginia General Assembly Building at the southeast corner of 9th and Broad streets in Richmond (across from Richmond City Hall). Address for a GPS- 910 Capitol Square, Richmond, Virginia 23219. Look for people wearing blaze orange “Guns Save Lives” stickers
  • Guest Speakers
    • Emily Miller, chief investigative reporter for FOX 5 D.C. and author of "Emily Gets Her Gun"
    • David Codrea, well-known pro-gun writer, columnist, editor, and blogger
    • others to be added soon, please check back!

Attendance is free. Street parking is free, too, as it is a holiday.

VCDL has arranged to have buses from major areas in the state. Information is below.

Lobbying is easy! During Lobby Day you will be put into a group with other gun owners. We’ll have veteren Team Leaders from previous Lobby Days in each group to quickly teach you what you need to know.

Later that day there will be a rally at 11 AM at the Bell Tower on the Capitol grounds. We have some excellent gun-rights speakers lined up, including well-known Second Amendment activist, columnist, and blogger, David Codrea.

NOTE: Persons with valid Concealed Handgun Permits are allowed to carry in the General Assembly Building, the Capitol, and on the grounds of the Capitol. The only restricted place is the gallery of the Senate.

Parking

Since Lobby Day is held on Martin Luther King's birthday, there is no fee for parking in the streets of Richmond. There are also parking garages near the General Assembly where you can pay to park if you prefer.
