I was out on my range today and got tired of punching paper. So I drove a 1/4” rod in the ground in front of my dirt back stop and slid a 16 oz plastic pop bottle over it.
Man it worked great even with 22 LR solids. The bottle will spin if hit and not try to flee into the woods! You can just keep shooting it over and over!
It also solves the ricocheting problem when shooting cans on flat ground.
Have fun!

The gun club where I shoot has individual shooting bays with your basic "H" wooden target frames. I drill a small hole through the bottle caps of sparkling water bottles as they are thicker plastic and pull a string through, make a small loop. On the bottom wooden part of the frame I attach a 1/2 binder clip and attach the loop to it so the water bottle hangs freely. When hit with a .22 or 38, it reacts but stays put
