The funny thing about 594 is that it did not include silencers in it's redefining of firearms. My impression is under 594 you can *"legally"* hand your buddy your silencer, but not the rifle attached to it (unless you are in an exempted area/situation). The law is vague and very poorly worded. If one uses the Federal definition of a transfer, things would be different.

Honestly, we wont know what the law REALLY is until someone is damaged by it and the court decides/clarifies it.
