Thursday Hearing: Two Bills About Guns on Campus

The state senate committee on higher education will hold a hearing
this Thursday, February 7th at 10am regarding two bills.
The first is SB 6860, a major bill that, if passed, would allow
licensed CCW on all state colleges and universities throughout
Washington. It would prohibit them from making any rules that
prohibit carry/possession by CPL holders.
The second is its mirror image. SB 6841, being heard at the same time,
would criminalize all firearm possession on state colleges and
universities. Gross misdemeanor, lose your CPL for three years, and
you have to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
So we need as much support this Thursday as possible. Can any of you
make it? Can you write your state senators?
Check out http://www.campuscarrylegislation.com/ for more info on how
to write them (plus some sample letters), details on the hearings, and
more info on the bills themselves.
Please forward this to anyone you know who is sympathetic to our cause.
