Sportsman's Warehouse in Aurora had a good supply of it 2 weeks ago. I assume it's a standard item.
Edit: The new Bass Pro Shops has it also, but SW is cheaper.

It's a standard item. Bought some at a local gun store and at a gun show just a week ago.
I sure hope they do not stop making it. Who knows with the Winchester thing going on. I would imagine that they would keep the ammo business as I am sure it is doing alright.

The Winchester ammo business is totally unrelated to the closing of the factory in New Haven. The New Haven factory has not been "Winchester" for probably 20 or 25 years, maybe longer. It was the US Repeating Arms Corp, which in recent years has been owned by FN Herstal. They licensed the Winchester brand name from Olin Corp., which owns the brand.
The ammo business is in Utah, I believe, and is either owned by Olin or farmed out to another licensee unrelated to Herstal and USRAC.

Most of my handgun ammo is WWB. But if Walmart stops selling ammo then I will go to Sportsman's Warehouse, gunshows, and online.
However, I would be shocked if Wal-mart stopped selling ammo in the Phx area. They do a pretty good business in these parts.
I hear all these horror stories from people when they buy large quanities of ammo from Wal-mart (as in more than one box). No one blinks an eye around here. As a matter of fact, the last time I bought 45 acp, I asked for 4 boxes. The guy behind the counter asked why I was not going to buy an even 500. I said "good point, grab one more".

Well, my question was prompted because I have only seen the white box in Wal-Mart. I browse around Sportsman's Warehouse but I seldom browse the ammo isle. Imust have just missed it there.

Same here, the biggest problem I have is finding it in stock because it sells so quickly.
You can find it online but the price is higher plus you have to pay the shipping charges.

No one has said Meijer yet. Just like WalMart, you have to wait around for some mutant employee to open the case for you, and it takes them forever to find what you want, but the price is worth it.

In the Aurora SW, you wont find it in the ammo aisle. But at the ends of the aisles, close to the gun counter, there are stacks of WWB, Blazer, Wolf, and another brand in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45acp. If I remember correctly, WWB was about $11 for 50 in 45 acp. 45 was the only one I looked at. Further disclaimer - my memory is often untrustworthy on things like prices.
Bi-Mart used to carry it. It disappeared off of the shelves, leaving a vacant space that they haven't filled with anything else. When I ask what happened they simply reply that the company went out of business and walk away...:banghead:

What lead you to believe Wal-Mart was going to stop selling firearms and ammo? I can't get a handgun through them in PA, but in a few states as recent as 5 years ago one could.
Did WallyWorld annouce something I missed? I'd like to know.
I just stopped into Wal-Mart on Wednesday to order 124 gr WWB 9mm. 115 gr 9mm is a standard 100 rd bulk pack White Box item for them, but they can order most anything Winchester produces. I prefer 124 gr myself, as it knocks down steel better. Spoke to the manager of the sporting goods counter, she looked it up and *scan*, *scan*, *key entry* . . . OK. "Its a standard warehouse item, I can have it here in a few days. How much would you like?"
"One case please . . . I need 1000 rounds for a training event."
She never batted an eye, gave her my card and asked her to call when it arrived. Great deal . . . I don't have to pay a separate shipping fee, worry about it coming to the house when I'm not home and walking away, or any crap about adult signature required . . . blah, blah, blah.
I'm not a huge Wal-Mart shopper. But they sell the crap out of WWB around here, especially 9mm. She said they get 2-3 cases in every other day, and it moves. I'll use them for ordering ammo.

Ummmm ... the fact that several threads here and on other forums confirm what we have all been seeing -- none of the stores have firearms any more, and store personnel all attribute it to a "management decision."

About the Winchester white-box ammo, I was just in the Aurora, CO Sportsman's Warehouse today and saw plenty of it there. I bought a 250-round box of Remington UMC 9mm 115 Gr. Metal Case ammo for $31.50, which was the best price for any of the brands in stock.

Wal-Mart is not a great place to buy ammo as they don't stock it very deep. Twelve boxes (600 rounds) was the most I've ever found in stock of the USA Whitebox 9mm. $4.63/50 was a nice price, but I'm shooting at least 2000 rounds of 9mm a month lately, and trying to get it at Wal-Mart wastes way too much time trying to stay supplied. If I had enough hours of free time to run-around to Wal-Marts to find ammo, I'd be able to reload enough .45 insteasd and not be shooting 9mm at all.
I doubt they will stop selling it where it sells well. I can understand why guns don't sell well at the Wal-Marts closer to upscale areas. If you've ever bought or observed them sell a gun the transaction takes forever compared to gun show or normal gun store. Other than the "Wal-Mart only" Ruger 10/22 configurations I can't see myself wasting that much time for the meager savings I'd achive compared to at a gun show. Besides I enjoy walking around gun shows, and despize walking around Wal-Mart where there is acres of crap I don't want or need to find the few items I'd be intrested in.
Fortunately I'd stocked up while Academy still had the aluminum Blazer 9mm for $3.86/50 and should be OK for the next three months.

Heard about 10 minutes ago on channel 6, Knoxville, TN news this Saturday morning. The announcer stated that Wal Mart has not released the names or locations of stores that will stop selling firearms.
Word of caution - this same announcer was telling the story of a fireman who attempted to rescue a missing child from a bear, who fired his "three hundred and eighty" pistol at the bear.
The fire man in question had his .380 in his pocket when he stumbled upon the bear standing over the little girl's body.
So who knows how correct this newsman was!

Buying from my local Academy is cheaper than Wal-Mart. I can buy two 50-round boxes of 9mm for less than one of the valuepacks that wallyworld puts out. Plus, Academy is a helluva lot more pro-gun. The one I frequent has an M4-gery by Bushmaster that I've been eyeing for some time now 
After last Sundays shooting match I picked up 10 of the 100 packs of white box at Wallmart. I had them keep a big supply and told other shooters to keep buying there so the store will always keep a good stock. We shoot alot out here so it's no big deal to buy a thousand at a time

Evidently the Wal-Mart at the corner of Broadway and I-30 in Garland, TX is one of the 1000 stores that is targeted to remove firearms from their shelves. My friend went in there last week and was told they were stopping firearm sales that very day. It looks as if Academy will get my sporting goods business......all of it!
Bass Pro is being built in Garland, just east of that Wal-Mart on I-30.
I have bought only two guns from Wal- Mart. I usually buy myguns and ammo at gun shows.

Good grief. If, and note I said IF Wal-Mart ever stiops selling ammo, I'll do the same thing I did before I started buying ammo from Wal-Mart. I'll buy it somewhere else.
Around here Dicks Sporting Goods, and Gander Mountain are right neck and neck with Wal-Mart for ammo prices, Dicks might be a little cheaper on Rem-UMC actually. I buy it mostly from Wal-Mart because it's convient. No other reason.
I did buy one of the really nice Wally World Special Ruger 10/22's a month or so ago. Nice rife. The "mutant" employee who waited on me was very polite, knew his business, and didn't take any longer to fill out the paperwork than any other place I've ever bought a gun other than the manager checking to make sure it was all done correctly; maye 5 extra minutes. I don't even mind the "walk of shame" as someone else has called it. I wish he would carry the dog food and the cat litter to the car for me too. That stuff is heavy.
Even after that I had to wait for my wife to finish shopping before I could leave.

They don't sell cars, but they sell oil and air filters. Ammo doesn't take up much shelf space or require forms in a lot of states.
And there are no Dick's or Bass Pro or Academies here. Wally World has Blazer Brass 9mm for $5.97 a box and .45 for $8.97. The only other alternative is ridiculous-markup local gun shops that are few and far between.

+1 Academy, if I don't get ammo on-line or at gun shows, its usually Academy I go to. Unlike Wal-Mart I can usually get a case and not leave the shelves empty for the guy behind me.
Gander Mountain sent me a flyer with WW 100 pks for $9.95, drove out there and got some but like Wal-Mart they weren't stocked deep enough for me to make a regular thing of it -- to drive that far unless I can count on getting two cases at least, its not worth it. I pass three Wal-Marts on my way home form work, but traffic flow and store locations make it waste 30-40 minutes minimum if I stop there. I pass two Academy stores and its only a 10-25 minute detour to get in and out.
