:banghead:So Walgreens fired one of their Pharmacists, Jeremy Hoven, for using his legally concealed revolver to defend himself & co-workers. Here is the story:

I can understand a write up but the CEO is backing the firing. Their lucky that they did not have a mass murder on their hand along with the bad press that comes with that. I'm encouraging a letter writing campaign. Who is in?

Also moderators can we make a sticky for national businesses with known anti-gun stands?

Yes but they are pro-filling my prescription promptly and having medicine and first aid supplies available 24/7, as well as selling greeting cards.

Since I go to walgreens for those things, not to buy or shoot gun, they've earned my business.

I'm not spoiled and self-centered, so it doesn't bother me at all that they don't agree with me on everything.

I've stopped shopping at Walgreens since this incident. Now I go across the street to CVS, or (heaven forbid) down the street to Walmart.

In my opinion, standing up for my beliefs is more important than a couple minutes saved waiting in line, especially one so fundamental as the right to keep and bear arms.

This has been discussed ad nauseum already in several threads.

If you think going across the street to their major competitors proves anything, think again - those companies will do the same thing

It is called liability and you can thank years of "let's sue somebody with deep pockets" mentality for it

It is a matter of lawyers and the possibility of getting sued, they are trying to protect themselves from that. If they didn't have a policy against it and this hero ended up accidentaly hitting a innocent, Walgreens could be sued under the idea that they essentially let their employee carry a gun. Even though places shouldn't prohibt employees from carrying guns like Pizza Hut, there is still the liability.

It sucks what the world has become.
