I have/had many different hand gun's, but my favorite are the Walther P99 and P99C, Why, The most accurate "for me". I shoot the pair better than my former Beretta 92fs 9mm, current Sig. P220 .45 and Sig. P226 9mm.

How would you rate the Walther P99?

i don't own one, but i've shot one several times. i like the ergonomics, the reliability, the accuracy, the looks, and the magazine release, but i don't particularly care for the trigger. i wouldn't turn one down if it were a gift ;)

i owned one for a short while until the previous owner begged for it back.

i liked everything about it except the long DA trigger pull...i thought it would never go off. besides being a "Bond" gun, the thing i liked best was the de-cocker located atop the slide

A friend has one. I think it is a fine pistol, but somewhat limited by the lack of a cottage industry like Glock's or even what you see growing up for the XD and Plastic M&P. If somebody knew how to polish up the action a bit, I would like it a lot more.

Love, love, love mine.

I have the AS. Agree the DA pull is long but love it that you can easily set the trigger on SA by a quick short pull of the slide and clicking the trigger back.

It's also my most accurate pistol. I shoot great close groups with it. Usually everything falls into a nice baseball sized group wherever I'm aiming out to about 10 yards. It is accurate farther out but just not grouped so close.

Honestly, I've even said before, it's the finest pistol I've owned or ever shot.

I have one. It's reliable, it's never had an FTF or an FTE. It's not an overly accurate pistol, my Browning HP is considerably more accurate. I've also found it to be a bit of an ammo connoisseur from an accuracy standpoint. I'd gotten one of those 250 round bulk packs of the remanufactured ammo from Dick's Sporting goods (I dont' remember the brand). At 40 feet you could only put about 50% of the mag in an 8" circle. Running name brand new ammo you could put 90% if the mag in an 8" circle at 40 feet.

Having said that, I like the pistol, and won't be getting rid of it. And, it compliments my Walther P22.

I like the 99 series. Good design.

I ordered a SW99 after participating in an extended T&E using a pair of SW99's chambered in .40 S&W and 9mm, and attending my first SW99/P99 armorer class. I later carried an issued SW99 chambered in .40 S&W for a few years, and then ordered a SW99c chambered in 9mm. Like the Glock, I tend to prefer the 99 series when chambered in 9mm, myself.

There are some features in the 99 series which I think are genuine refinements when it comes to the concept of a polymer-framed pistol.

I've written a few posts detailing my thoughts about the 99 series and won't burden folks with recreating them here. Suffice to say I feel it's a robust, reliable service-type pistol which deserves more attention than it received in this country. Walther doesn't really promote the 99 series here, and I'm told it's presently devoting significant effort to promoting it in the rest of the world for LE & military sales.

FWIW, I also tend to prefer the 99 series in the traditional double action format, which Walther now calls their Anti-Stress.

I've put many more rounds downrange in training & practice with my SW99c than I have my 3913, and about an equal number of rounds compared to my G26 (more than 9K), and I find the inherent accuracy of the SW99c to be just a little bit better ... for me ... than either my 3913 or my G26.

Nice pistol.

A favorite of mine

I bought a WALTHER P99 in 9m.m. and it has become one of my favorite handguns.
It or a BERETTA 92 variant are my first choices for off duty carry.

It has better ergonomics for me than any other polymer framed gun and has proven completely reliable and quite accurate.

One of the best guns I own. I love the decocker feature and being able to recock the striker with just 3/8" pull is awesome. Mine in a .40 I got when my dealer bought a lot of 80 guns from S&W they had sitting in a warehouse. If you can find one, a German made specimem is nice to have.

It's doggone tough to find anyone with a bad word to say about the P99. I've got the full-sized model and the compact (both with the AS trigger), take them to the range often, and have never had even the slightest of issues with either one, through literally thousands of rounds. The P99 is as good as it gets these days.

My Chirstmas present was a P99 QA 9MM in OD green. I personally like the green and get many "What is that" questions when people see it.

I like the full time lower weight pull of the QA vs the AS. Personal preference.

I still don't know what to get for a holster. Wisconsin is open carry only so if anyone has any suggestions. I was looked at Safariland, but don't know if that will come off as too close to law enforcement. I just want something leather that will release my gun when I want and not leave it on the ground or in the wrong hands when I am not reaching for it.

My P99 has been fantastic. I have a early model P99 'AS' (before they were called that, Interarms import) in 9mm. Very accurate and reliable. The trigger isn't as crisp as I would like, but that would be my only complaint. I have been exceptionally happy with the pistol.

I love my p99. It is the DAO version. Trigger pull is forever, but once you get used to it isn't bad at all. I have a couple thousand rounds of .40 through it with out a single issue.

I've never shot the Walther version. I've shot my Dad's S&W 99 and I thought that was a great gun, very much enjoyed shooting it.
