Walther P99 Final Edition

I passed up a used "s&w" imported one for 350 a few years ago and regret it.

I would look into these but I think they will be artificially pricey.

It is not a total lost cause with the retirement of the Walther P99. There are reliable clones available. I know some will look down on Turkish made firearms but the Canik pistols are reliable and a close clone of the Walther P99.

Being a huge Walther fan I would get a final edition P99. But do not like the FDE shade. So I will continue looking for a used black 9mm one instead. Already have one in .40S&W.

About the time that the P99as moved onto my radar, the compact had been cancelled. As such, I didn't replace my HK P30, as I consider the P30sk.

It hit a lot of the buttons, first is that paddle release. Second is the DA/SA with a de-cocker. In this thread, Canik pistols was mentioned. I went and looked and didn't see what I was looking for.

If you are interested in the P99, then I suggest taking a look at Canik pistols. I like my Canik Elite SC. It is in between the Glock G26 and G19 as far a size goes.

My father has a P99 (in black, and 9mm) and it’s a wonderful gun. I like it better than any of Walthers striker options.

I've got 3 and none are "pure" Walthers. The 9mm is a full-size Magnum Research (same type of Walther deal S&W did) and the two 40s -- full and compact-- are S&W/Walther combos (frame by Walther, slide and barrel by Smith). I carry the compact .40 more than anything else.
The triggers on all of them are pretty great for a striker (they are the reason I don't own a PPQ any more as they are 95% the Q I had), I like the DA first shot, SA on followup plus the decocker, and in terms of size they are not any larger than the latest big-deal micro, the S&W CSX.
I'll not be getting any more, I figure 3 is plenty.
