I had an Iver Johnson TP22, much like the one you have. It was a fun to shoot, very reliable, and relatively inexpensive. I wasn't put off by the Zamak frame as I knew the slide was made from steel. Had it for quite awhile until I traded it on a new Beretta Model 21.

I bought a used 21A a couple of years back, but didn't try it out until this summer. I think I would trade it for a TP22. It isn't at all reliable.

I had a couple of 21A's over the years. As long as you kept them spotlessly clean, they worked fine. Once they get dirty, and that seemed to happen pretty quick, trouble started.

I always figured that a lack of an extractor had something to do with that.

Got the Walther out to the range yesterday for the first time. Shot great, was reliable with Federal Gameshock .22lr but not with CCI standard velocity which had numerous fails to cycle the gun which I expected would be the case. I might paint the front sight which was a little difficult to pick up but other than that we like the gun and it feels like a quality little piece.

I sold my PPK/S .22 LR. Didn't see any reason to keep it. Has little to do with a "real" PPK/S. And it's not a great .22 LR semi-auto. It's pretty, but that's about it. Got a good price, so I'm happy and good riddance.

I still shave quite often using a Gillette Tech razor made during the Korean War that has a zamac head holding ultrasharp blades.

There is a wide spectrum of zinc alloys.

I've had zinc alloy parts fall apart in my hands with white dust. Same with aluminum alloys, intergranular corrosion.
Zamak is easier to tap with a leadscrew tapper (Kind of a rare tool used for production tapping of soft weak materials) because the metal is so soft it'll pull the tap right out through the threads, it's an even poorer choice for guns than aluminum in my opinion. It's a personal choice, all the guns I treasure are all made of Steel alloys.

I can’t argue that, I also have the Phoenix that I paid $125 for years ago. It doesn’t get out much but when it does I have a good time.

My wife was initially eyeballing a Beretta Bobcat that I was hoping she would go with but I did not want to influence her decision between the two and then blame me if she didn’t like the Beretta…o_O

I have several Beretta tip ups. Id take those over the pheonix or umarex any day (or anything from gsg). Ive seen the stainless Walther though and have to say i wouldn't mind one.

least 64 different safety mechanisms.

The redundant safety system on those ruins an otherwise decent gun in my opinion. We have a stainless short barrel and a blued gun with both barrels.

And yeah Buckmark, victory, Ruger, Neos are better guns but they are also a different class of guns. Some of us like the little fellers too. We know they aren't comparable

Have had two steel PPK/s, (got the second one after regretting trading the first), and they are a different critter than the Umawrecks version. Trigger pull on the classic Walther isn't great, but it's a day at the beach compared to the new version.
Was a gun snob when a young lady brought a Umawrecks to our gun safety class, but it worked okay. She did need to cock it for any reasonable expectation of intentionally hitting anything.
Zamak does cast uncommon well, and makes a nice looking finished product. Umawrecks makes .22 clones of other guns, marketed under various big makers' names.
