Met my shooting bud today for a couple rounds of skeet and a couple rounds of trap. Invited another guy to join us, he had shot a little sporting clays, and a round of skeet years ago but nothing recently. About 90 degrees with high humidity and very little breeze and full sun. We were dripping after the first round.
My Buddy had just picked up a used Winchester 101 O/U in .410 from an friend of his that is going into a nursing home and he wanted to try it out. I loaded up a few boxes of reloads for him and myself for the skeet. He shot a 17 the first round with a new strange gun in .410, we were not even sure what chokes it has. He shot a following 21, which is about where he shoots 12 gauge. New guy had about an 18 and a 19 with his Browning Citori in 12. I shot a 25 and 24 on my rounds with my .410. We all had to stop more than once to wipe sweat from our eyes and shooting glasses.
Trap rounds we switched to out trap guns, my M12 and my Buddie's 870TB. New guy prefers skeet, he maybe broke 15's, but he wasn't set up for trap shooting, we were at 22 yards. I ran another 25 and a 23, my buddy shot a 22 and a 19, which isn't too bad for maybe his 10th round of trap experience wise. We were all completely soaked with sweat by the time we were finished. A nice breeze picked up as we were heading out and a few clouds rolling in for a bit of shade. Figures.
