We know about exceeding 'max loads'. How about exceeding minimum loads?

There is nothing scientific or magical about VV’s starting load, it is just 90% of the maximum load. Not necessarily a minimum load.

This is why one needs a chronograph. When the ES starts widening, that shows erratic ignition. Stop reducing, and go back up the scale.

I’ve used the phrase, “Working down the ladder,” as a holdover from my younger days and what “the old guys” back then told me but, basically, it is working up a load but going lower on the charges is same-size steps from Start instead of higher.

Yes, erratic is bad. So are bulged primers.
