Wearing firearms apparel this 4th?

This is my first post in the Activism section so I hope this is the right place for it. Generally I stay out of the political side of things unless I am drug into it but I was thinking this morning why not celebrate my freedoms this 4th by wearing a firearm related shirt? Granted there is nothing wrong with just wearing the flag or something like that (my wife actually bought me a flag shirt to wear). The 4th is about remembering our hard fought for freedoms, not just firearms related, but every freedom we have; speech, religion, right to bare arms, ect. We wouldn't have a single one of them without brave men and women taking up arms and fighting for our freedom and paying for it with their own blood. I don't think there's ever been a better time to stand out as gun owners and make a statement given our current state of the union where almost every freedom has been questioned and attacked in some way shape or form by our leadership. I believe the simple act of wearing a firearm related shirt or hat can at very least open a door for a conversation or an educational discussion with a friend, family member, or even a perfect stranger. Also keep in mind to be polite if entering into a discussion about it and remind even the staunchest anti-gunner you may encounter that without the freedom to own and use a firearm by the common man our great country would never have existed and this great day we call Independence Day would never have happened. Wear them proudly my friends!

I actually don't have any "firearms apparel" to wear. I don't do t-shirt with company logos in general (they want to advertise on my body, they can pay me for it!) plus I don't like to advertise that I'm a gun owner (no NRA stickers on the car, no "Protected by S&W" on the front door, etc.).

There was something I read recently about a group encoraging people to wear black instead of red, white and blue this 4th, to symbolize the current attack on our freedoms. I can't remember who was pushing the idea, though.

I don't wear firearms clothing anymore. Given my job, I've seen how easy it is to profile people based on the clothing they wear. I don't like to stand out.

Why should today be any different than any other day?

I wear a lot of industry and hobby-related shirts and hats, I even seek them out. I think there are a couple of ways to look at it. Yes, you are giving them free advertising. In a strictly business sense, of course we don't owe them anything. However, I regard shooting and the industry as more important than other business relationships. I think that gun companies and shooters have a vested interest in helping each other out and preserving our rights. When a company makes a move that protects rights, but could be harmful to their bottom line, I want to support and reward them. I can't afford an STI gun, but I can wear an STI hat. I also think that with a narrow advertising exposure window, and a culture where all problems are blown up and magnified on the internet, I will give an extra boost to companies when I think they are doing it right.

Other people with other hobbies and sports they like to participate in or watch never hesitate to wear jerseys, logos, hats, etc. All I'm doing is applying the same level of fanship to MY sport as THEY do to THEIRS. Also, living in Utah, a lot of posers wear Browning logo gear anyway, they actually sell it at Walmart. So, where I live, it's not that much of a stretch to wear it in the first place.

Pretty much all my time is either in uniform or logo gear. The kids tell me that these days rock concert t-shirts just aren't cool anymore.

No firearm related apparel here, except sundry holsters and magazine pouches. Not really even a firearms related belt... Oh, ear plugs and glasses...

I wear pro 2nd shirt all the time so its nothing new to me,i do have a new tshirt though for tomm that has a Krinkov on the front along with the words to the 2nd amendment. I have worn it before but I get so many good comments from people that I figured it would be good for the 4th of July.

I don't usually Open Carry but if there was ever a day to do so, wouldn't it be today?

I'll be open carrying all day today. No need for a firearms T-Shirt

No firearms apparel here to speak of. Once done with outdoor chores that have to be done today (weather on all other days precludes them), I'll be out and about sporting a black T-shirt with the flag splayed across it, and a hat that says "USA" on it. Both also include the phrase "est. 1776."
