Just started reloading 45 ACP. Made a few test rounds, and went out Sunday to try them out. All of them failed to fire through my new XD.
Each one had a primer strike, but none actually fired. The dimple looked a little shallow, but I didn't have anything to compare it to, so it might have been normal.
We then took the reloads and shot them in my buddy's Ruger, and they all shot fine.
I ran a mag of factory rounds through the XD and it FTF'd again. Only one factory round FTF in the mag, but still an obvious issue.
I assume it is an issue with the XD and not the reloads, since they shot fine through the ruger.
I'm going to tear her down tonight and go through it and clean and oil it again. It was clean when we shot it. It's brand new, only shot one time before, and it shot with no problems last time (all factory ammo).
Any advice on what to look for, what to "test" to make sure the striker is working properly, etc?
