Well, another bucket list check-off. New range pistol I've always wanted.

I have no use for a Glock, but I suspect it's one of those "everybody should own one" kind of guns
Same boat here, no real use for one unless I decide to shoot a GSSF match.

Having said that, I think the 3 everyone should have are the G19, G30, and G34. I've had all 3 until a buddy talked me into selling him my G9...because he wanted 3 and my Gen 2 was more reliable than the Gen 3s he had...I do have a G22 that I got in a trade that I don't shoot (looking to add a .22LR upper to it.

OP - Good pickup on that G34. I like mine much more than any of the G17s I've owned. A very affordable, and great value, upgrade is the Taran Tactical connector

LOL, actually looking for my first trigger up grade. This is going to be a dedicated range pistol so want to try and get a 3lb trigger. Man a .22lr slide kit would have my money ASAP!

I have a Springfield XD40 -4inch barrel I got it when they first came out , great gun. I know they are called the Croatian Glock but I like them better and I have shot a lot of Glocks with that being said I stopped at my favorite gun shop to just look and ended up buying a Springfield XDm Elite Precision 5.25 in 9mm it goes great with my S&W 929 Performance Center 9mm . It is a great shooting gun I have 1911’s and that is why I think I like XD’s better. IMG_1452.jpeg

Nice! I carried a Gen 4 Glock 34 for many years at work, only giving it up when they neutered me as an administrator and took me away from field work. (I went to a 43X after that.)

I found the 34 to be a great combination of reliability and shootability. The gun never choked, unless it was ammo related, and it shot where I needed it to in all types of conditions. About the only wear on it is on the slide release and some shiny spots on the top of the slide from the Safariland kydex holster I wore.

My duty Glock 34 was stock outside of night sights, a Vickers flat trigger shoe and a flag slide cover, but I “built” a Gen 3 version with a Lone Wolf slide, match barrel, OEM innards, Tru Glo sights, Vickers trigger and Wolff springs. (4.5 lb striker) This has a five color camo cerakote finish as well.

Great choice, I think you’re going to like that new pistol once you put a bunch of shots down range this weekend!

Stay safe.

Glock 34 long slide 9x19.

A few years back the 34 became the trendy pistol of choice among our personnel who were eligible to choose another approved pistol other than the department issue.

While I didn't go that route (I've always favored a 4 or 4.25 inch barrel for duty carry, I could not argue with the results at the range. Once the MRDS became affordable, qual scores skyrocketed.

I hear you brother. The fun stopped.

So are these model 34's 17 rounders or more out of the box?

The Glock 34 uses the same frame as the G17. The slide and barrel are longer. Their standard factory mags are 17 rounders.
