What 3 firearms for home defense?

If you could pick 3 currently produced firearms for home defense, what would they be? The choices could be all handguns, rifles, shotguns or a combination of those categories.

Assuming this is all free, and all ammo and magazines and supporting accessories are ALL FREE:

1- Suppressed short barrel AR15 type rifle in 300 blk (Aimpoint micro and Surefire weaponlight for starters)
2- HK VP9 or Walther PPQ with Surefire XC1 (night sights)
3- Duplicate of #2 in a different room

it was a joke, take it or leave it. as far as my other comments. yes I think a bat, shotgun or handgun for home defense is the best. however its ridiculous to have a fully outfitted AR-15/AK-47 ETC. Also as far as me telling sharing my knowledge with other members. each state is different in laws so forum members need to know their state laws before someone on the forum tells them its okay to dump a 30rd ak-47 mag into someone because he's jiggling your door handle. I also stated how everyone should know their laws in their state. anyone with half a brain could decipher the shotgun buttox comment.

I've been in court and had issues with issues stated above and guess what. I was protecting myself, my dog, my home, my brother because my drunk coke head neighbor decided he wanted to fight cause the dog barked at him. I got put into a cop car, I got a restraining order, I had to hire an attorney and go to court to beat him and live my happy life again. I knew I could protect myself when he crossed my property line with a bat and saying he went to get a gun while the sheriff was 20min away but I chose not too, I chose to control myself so I didn't have to fight for my rights in a court. this is why unless you have a firearm, knife, etc visible in my house im not shooting you. too many gun hoe, I know the law cause I read something on the internet or some guy on thehighroad told me I could say castle doctrine and shoot someone possibly unarmed cause he was in my house. like I said hit him in the head with a bat and be done with it. I even thought about getting bear spray for HD.

An outfitted AR15 style carbine is probably the single best home defense weapon you can have

A small carry gun that is so comfortable and unobtrusive to carry, that you have not qualms about carrying it all the time is gun#1

A full frame hand gun with a light or a laser stowed in a GunVault in a strategic location (I keep on each floor of the house) is gun#2

A carbine with high cap mag is gun #3

yep spreading such terrible info cause when it comes to me shooting someone armed or unarmed I want to take info from guys on the internet. smh.

how many of you here actually have legit firearms training with a carbine? how many actually know how to kill someone armed, possibly shooting at you with a carbine in a house in the dark? I would bet not very many. I know quite a few people at the gun club that think they are some NRA, YOUTUBE, G.I. JOE badass because they watched some youtube videos and "train" at the range.

I have friends that at ex usmc recon, spec forces army, military police, civ police swat, etc and guess what they say. 18inch pistol grip shotgun or handgun. you go trying to play I'm so badass I'm not going to call the cops I'm gonna find this guy in my house and shoot him up real good and got your cool little weapon light on strobe and lazer and this guys gonna shoot you dead or reach out of a doorway and grab that long gun from you because most civilians have no clue how to use that firearm in a CQC area.

Seems everyones friend or cousin was a swat,delta force, seal combo of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and Sean Connery. I was in the army , note I was not "special" just an average joe , and I saw no one utilizing shotguns as main weapons in Afghanistan. Also to the point , theres thousands of stories of regular people with no ninja samurai skills defending themselves and their homes just fine. The whole Red Dawn scenario is not realistic self defense. Choose a weapon platform your comfortable with and go with it . No need to disparage someone who has a different mindset than you .

I do have some actual, professional firearms training, with both pistols and carbines.

And I certainly know that a carbine in 5.56 is far more effective at stopping threats, and easier to hit a target with, too. Anybody who actually shoots the firearms in question would know this from personal experience. Do you actually shoot?

but its okay for someone to disparage me because I said I feel an ar-ak is a bad idea for HD because the op asking could be an average joe and run out and buy an assault rifle with 1k worth of crap on it to possibly find themselves in a bad situation. this is like someone giving my 60yo 4ft tall aunt a 12ga pistol grip shotgun with 00 buck with a light on it. she has no way to train with it, maneuver it, etc. now she has a handgun with laser.

I offered my advice just like everyone else. some disagreed with my bat and shotgun suggestion and I disagree with others.

btw wasp as far as calling me a troll because I stick up for myself I don't think so. as I said not everyone has carbine training and just cause you sit at bench and shoot an AR doesn't mean your capable of sd in a home.

870 12ga is in the corner for HD use. AK is also in a corner about 12 foot away. Wife has a S&W Shield on her side of the bed, my G23 is on mine. Have a 41 Blackhawk and Dan Wesson 357 located in a handy spots. My LCP is in a kitchen drawer with some of my daily pocket stuff like a few knives, checkbook, and work stuff. I've ran out of space in my gun cabinets or I wouldn't have much out besides the LCP, a revolver and the shotgun.

You've been shown you were incorrect about caliber selection by being referenced to the Box O Truth site and the independent testing performed by myself and others with various calibers on residential bullet material.

The reason others now think you're a troll is because the pistol grip only shotgun is widely recognized as a very poor defensive weapon due to the inability to aim it and poor control. The recommendation of a PGO shotgun instantly marks the person as either completely ignorant of defensive firearms use and regurgitating movie/TV memes or actively trolling.
