never never land...never land here!
As it says, what calibers/loadings would you like Winchester, aka. Brownchester to chamber the Model 70's in.

Feel free to express the caliber, twist rates, barrel lengths and the specific model of the Model 70's.

Winchester said they were going to bring the various Model 70's out in additional calibers....lets help em' out!:D

Based upon the thread I started comparing the Model 70 to the Model 7, I would say the .260 Rem.

I'd like .257 Roberts, 6.5x55, 7x57, .280 or .280AI. I'd like them in the Featherweight and Extreme Weather SS.

Extreme Weather SS in .338-06 A-Square (Olin should buy the rights, since Weatherby isn't doing anything with them)

Featherweight in .260 Rem

Sporter & EWSS in .264 Win Mag or, alternatively, .25-06

And a Super Grade Featherweight...

i'd like a fat barrelled 24" 218 bee, a 26-27" light-as-possible contour 264 win mag, and probably wouldn't kill them to make a sub 8-pound 375 ruger w/ a 21-22" barrel...

338-06 A-Square Extreme Weather SS 22"...NO CHEEK REST.
Feather Weight SS 22"

260 Rem as above
Coyote,24"

375 and 416 Ruger SS 22" AA grade walnut with both metal and wood having a satin finish....Call me crazy but I would like them in the Feather Weight with this look too...Hmmm,add to that a 458-416 Ruger.(I wish Hornady would make that cartridge.)

BIG 338's one full on Target/Tactical and one as above.

Well... save your wishes for Santa....had to call Winchester this AM, while on the horn, talked with Cust. Serv./Info., asked in reference to new calibers of the Model 70 coming out this year.....Ready....!?!

New for 2010...additional calibers for the Model 70 line of rifles.

Model 70 Safari-
375 H&H-
416 Remington MAG.
456 WIN.MAG.

Model 70 Sporter and Extreme Weather S.S-
7mm Remington MAG.
338 WIN.MAG.

Model 70 Featherweight-
NO NEW CALIBERS for 2010.

Well, I for one am very disappointed, but what do you do, Winchester seems to still have a lot of faith in the WSM's which, even the two people I spoke with this mourning agreed were faltering badly.

Our sales of the WSM and the SAUM, in certain calibers is non-existent right now.

Oh well.....

I'd like .257 Roberts, 6.5x55, 7x57, 8x57 JS, and 9.3x62. I'd like them in the Featherweight and maybe Extreme Weather SS.

.338-06 offers the same bullet weights as .35 Whelen, but with better velocity for any given weight, and better BC across the board.

200 grain .338-06 velocities are in the same ballpark as 165 grain .30-06 velocities.

A good look at the numbers makes the .338-06 look like one hell of a cartridge, and one that ought to be readily available -- before .35 Whelen, even.

Ditto FloatPilot and ArmedBear; except the .338/06 instead of .35Whelen.
I've got one, and it IS one hell of a cartridge.
I get '06-200gr velocities with 250gr bullets, and 300winmag energies.
I get only 75-90fps less than .338winmag velocities, and gun holds 6rds instead of 3-4 like the magnum.....
But, I already have one, and don't need another.

However, I would buy a 6.5x55 or .260 in a lightwt. M70.
