Hi all, sorry to post such a mundane topic here.

I picked up these two PMAGs for dirt cheap at a local gun shop and really like them, but for the life of me I can't figure out if these are OD Green or Foliage. I keep looking at sites online and holding the PMAGs up to the screen like I'm some sort of color matching interior decorator, but on some sites they match the OD and on some it matches the Foliage. (actually on a few sites they even seemed to match the Flat Dark Earth color.. even though the FDE doesn't seem very dark or earthy to me..)

anyway.. help? I don't own any Magpul items and these are my first PMAGs so I've nothing to compare against.

They just look a nondescript greyish color on my monitor.
That is the trouble, computer monitors are not real faithful to shadings of color.
I think you will have to get a look at one with the maker's label or a print catalog.

You should probably calibrate your computer monitor.

Another fix would be to just buy some more Pmags of various colors. If you dont like how they look, then spray paint them.

**Also I think the swearing "bleep" in the title is not necessary. Just saying. Have a nice day.

Magpul Pmags only come in 3 colors Black, Dark Earth, and OD Green

To me they look like OD green, but it is so close to dark earth as to be almost indistinguishable.

Honestly who cares? As long as they work right.

Are you trying to make them match your shoes and belt or something?

Do we need to call the Queer Eye for the Strait Guy crew for you?

Four colors, they also come in foliage green but that one is flat dark earth.

Honestly who cares?
No need for "queer eye" but if you're gonna get something other than black, than it all might as well match.

No need Coal Dragger, unless like in the show they buy me a whole new shooting wardrobe.

It would simplify things if Magpul just stamped a part number somewhere on the things.

As for why I care, two things: I like to know what I have, color included, and most importantly it is to settle an argument :)

nope they also come in foliage also.

OP,
It is really hard to tell the od, and the foliage apart unless you have one of each side by side, that is my experience anyway. However if i had to guess that is od, also it looks like you have some of the older models of pmags, and i don't remeber if they made that older run in foliage or not, i know they do now, and they have been for a while but i don't remember that far back.

Sadly it is not, she actually couldn't 100% id the color match either, and she is my go-to-guy(girl/gal?) when it comes to such things.

Admittedly it is a stupid thing to have an argument about :)

hard to tell with the computer monitor/photo color matching

but my magpul FDE is a good bit lighter than that. and it doesn't look like my foliage green either. so i'm going to guess it's OD green.

PMags are pretty cheap.. and there is nothing wrong with having a few extra, so why not order a few of each color and see which work best? :)

Yes I have to admit I think now it is OD as well. Guess it's my turn to buy the drinks. I would have thought an OD would be more.. well.. green.

It is "green". This is Magpul olive drab, including everything you see that is not black:

It is blue.

No wait, it's red.

It looks more like FDE going by the FDE Magpul I have.

Just be glad pmags don't come in mauve or ecrue. If they had really dark blue you could never tell them from the black till you ended up at the range.
