I, bought a Ruger Single Six with two cylinders .22 and .22 mag. 5 .5 bbl. blue steel. According to ruger it was made in 1977. It does not have the warning stamped on the bbl. I was wondering if I found a treasure or not. Thanks in advance.

I had one just like that made around 1979 or 1980. It was a great shooter.

You have a great single action revolver that should give you many years of dependable service. For some of us that is a treasure find in itself.

You DID get a great plinker. My wife had one for a few years and it was "sort of" accurate with the .22LR cylinder installed but it was a TACKDRIVER with the .22 Mag. in place. Ruger chose to size the bore for the slightly larger dia. .22 Mag. bullet. And with .22 Mag. that Ruger could "plink" oil cans at 80 yards - until you got tired or ran out of ammo. It would hit shotshell hulls at 50 yards all day. Mine liked Federal .22s best. You'll love that Ruger.

I still have the one my Mom and Dad gave me for High School graduation. Doubt that happens very often these days.
