Pocket carry was the main idea but I didn't want to limit the thread to those guns only. I really wanted to hear what others carry and how they carry it. So no, the thread is open to all. I am looking for ideas. And those who posted links to specially built pants for CC gave me a whole new set of ideas.

Right now I am hoping to be on the road to some weight loss since my new doctor gave new diabetes pills. Pills that are also supposed to be prescribed for weight loss. The other drugs I was taking added weight he told me. In just a couple of weeks I can already tell I have lost some bulk. So when I stabilize on waist size I can buy some new pants. :thumbup:
 
Had me a 442 with barami grips and should have kept it, Along with a 640. Neat little pocket rockets

My 44 spl is a 18oz or 24oz with SS cylinder
J frame is 10oz

Yet most often, I Belt carry a medium frame in cross draw as I drive often… My preference. I still have one 642 left. This one still looks pretty good, considering how much its been used and shot in practice. It hasnt been carried all that much. I gave one to my youngest son and he carried it in his pocket for about a year, and the finish is pretty much trashed.

The finish on them and especially the 442's, dont hold up to well to hard use. My buddy carried a 442 for a number of years and it looked like hell. The contrast between the black and underlying alloy is pretty stark when the black flakes/chips off. At least with the 642's, you dont see it quite as bad against the silver color. The clear coat they use is pretty crappy too.
 
Yea, me too. They arent quite as nice to shoot with as some of the boot grips, but they arent bad, and keep the gun smaller, so they hide/carry better. I like the look better too.

Nice thought but because of the foot injury that caused me to have to take early retirement its not an option anymore. And I bought a bike and tried it for two days.

Im still a young guy but some injuries from sports has always made running and biking a hellish pain chore and I’ve found that my favorite and easiest for my ankles and knees is a heavy bag.

2-5 minute sets (usually 3-5 sets a day) of pounding on it, weights in the intervals and watching what I eat has dropped 15 lbs in the past few months, getting be back to where I was before COVID lockdowns.

Sadly it’s still another 20 to go to get back to where I was before the kids were born. I guess laying around with an infant all day with a house full of toddler snacks was pretty bad for me …
 
Kimber Match Target on belt, Colt 45 ACP in shoulder holster, depending on time of year, carry one or both, considering area of travel, ammo carried Winchester Black TALON 230 grain JHP, bought 50,000 bullets of assorted calibers from a well known Leo and a Winchester factory REP at a large gun show, dirt cheap price, Leo vouched for me allowing my purchase, of course he shared as well.
 
I’ve been carrying a Kahr P9 for 15+ years now during warmer months when I can carry IWB, switching to a PM9 for pocket carry when I have to wear dress clothes. In cold weather when I can wear either a sweatshirt or jacket I swap the P9 with a higher capacity CZ P07 or P01.

I’m in the final testing phases of replacing the P9 with a Sig P365xl.
 
I bought this gun to carry but didn't really carry it much because of its value. A friend said keep that in the safe...Then I thought about what my life is worth and will be carrying it from now on. Today, because I felt like it I slipped it into my pocket with no holster and it didn't really print in my Wranglers. It's light and comes out easy. I reload so I have enough choices but for personal defense I have factory ammunition in it. The first two are Buffalo Bore 130 semi-wadcutter 32 H&R mags and the next four are Speer 100 Grain Gold Dot 327 mags. It's loud but is an easy shooter and has enough power for a pocket gun.

Right now I am on duty, so I am carrying my issue GLOCK 19. Not my first choice, but I was not asked.

Off duty, I usually carry a GLOCK 42 or SIG 365, mostly the SIG now, the GLOCK 42 was the previous carry gun. It is still smaller (slightly), lighter (I can easily feel the difference) but less powerful and carries fewer rounds.
The negative is the recoil of the SIG when loaded when shooting. I can control it using my chosen 124 grain FEDERAL HST jhp, but when I can get some, I will try 9m.m. FTX Lite load from HORNADY.

Also, I occasionally carry a larger gun like the BERETTA 92 Compact, SIG 229, STOEGER 8000 or 8040 Cougar pistols that used to be made by BERETTA. I think it is one of their better designs.
All with FEDERAL HST ammo.

I think you made a good choice. Whats the point of owning a gun if you are afraid to use it? And if its a top notch gun then it should give top notch service. Nothing at all wrong with using a gun that is dead nuts reliable and that you can depend on 100%. Why save a gun for someone else to use down the road when you could have been enjoying it all along?

If you saw the movie Open Range and the General Store scene where Robert Duvall bought the expensive Swiss Chocolate that the store owner had never tried because he couldn't afford it and Duvall gave the store owner a taste and said "its right there in front of you and you never even tried it" or words close to that. Thats how I feel about Safe Queens. Guns were made to be shot and used. So get it out and put it to use.

And you may have guessed I own no over priced Pythons. But if I did you can bet I would shoot the damn things.
