A select-fire BAR, a S&W 625, a Ruger #1, a Wilson 1911, a Rohrbaugh, a Krag in 6.5x55, an FN Tactical, an AR in 9mm...damn, I need to win the lottery...

I've pretty well got basic needs filled:

Meat Chopper AK-47
Meat Getter CZ-550 .30-06
Small Pest Control Several rimfire rifles and pistols
Home Defense Win 1300 12ga w/18" barrel
Reach Out & Touch Something Savage Model 12BVSS in .243 Win
Pistols and Revolvers in About any Size and shape From .22 to.44 Mag
Lots of Fun Guns

What I really would like to have is more Snake Guns. The only one I have is a blued Python 6". I also would like to have a Colt Trooper. And a SXS L.C.Smith 12ga. And a Savage Weather Warrior in .308. And a CZ-550 in 6.5X55. And more barrels for my Contender. And a pre-WW2 Colt 1911. And a Gold Cup. And a 1911 in .38 Super.
The list could go on and on.

Need Vs. Want

Where to start? I’m not now or ever have been a long gun person. With a fair amount of assistance from our range master, who just my just happened to be my F.T.O. MANY years ago, I always was able to pass my annual shotgun qualification, so to me long guns are a non-issue.

I currently own four (4) .357 Magnum revolvers, and have access to the “lovely and Charming’s M-60. So I’m really set there, YET I still do not have a M27 –2 3½”, an N frame belly gun, nor an N frame B.B.Q. gun.

Of all the handguns I have sold, traded, or in one or two cases gave away the one I really want back is my 1970 Mfg. Browning P-35, ring hammer. Paid $118.00 for it in early 1972 and sold it a few years later for about $150.00. I really need to have my rear beat for that stunt. :banghead:

What I have, and feel are necessary:

1.) .22LR Rifle (Mine is a bolt gun, but anything would be accepted), for fun
2.) 12 or 20 gauge shotgun
a.)+20" Barrel w/screw chokes (Mine is a 12-Gauge Mossberg 500), for birds and home defense
b.) Rifled Barrel, for deer in areas I can't use a rifle

What I have to acquire still:
3.) .380 or larger pistol, a Personal Defense Weapon
4.) .30 or larger (so 30/30, .308, .30-06) rifle, for anything beyond 100 yards.

What I may say that I need but I don't:
-An AR-10 or equivalent semi-auto 7.62x54 rifle.
-A .45ACP Semi-Auto Pistol
-A Semi-Auto .22lr Rifle such as a 10/22 or Savage 64.

.22 Pistol, .22 Rifle, new series Glock 23, Glock 27, .357 revolver, AR10-type rifle, bolt-action in .308 or greater... That should just about do it, or atleast until I find a bullpup that can change calibers from 5.56X45, to 7.62X39, to .308, and takes AR, AK, and FAL mags respectively!

Well...

NEED:

1) Savage mark II, bull barrel, accu-trigger, boyd's thumbhole stock, good glass.
2) Kel-Tec PLR 16 with all the trimmings + Eotech
3) 1911 (Oddly enough I wouldn't mind having a RIA, and just putting a ton of work into it.)
4) Savage 10, .308, Bull barrel, Boss Brake, McMillan stock, great glass

Want:

1) Crates of Mosins
2) AMD-65
3) RRA M-4
4) Glock 22, and 17
5) Kel-Tec Sub 2000, 9mm, glock mags
6) Winchester Model 1887 Replica (I grew up watching Terminator 2)
7) Serbu Super Shorty, with Serbu Holster
8) Street Sweeper
9) Saiga 12, fully converted with all the fixins.
10) Tons and tons of full auto stuff that i really dont see the need in listing because it is so doubtful that I will ever get it.
11) Lever .357
12) Security Six

Ill stop there

2 Kel-Tec P-3AT's

Want:
S&W Mdl. 29, 6.5in barrel, wood grips (Do I feel lucky?)
Scope for the Mosin Nagant

Need:
A MOUNTAIN of ammunition, and some loyal followers to reload all the brass for me. :D

Hmmmmmmm. Well, the one thing that REALLY jumps out is a Barrett .50 BMG. I've been drooling for one of those bad boys for a long, long time. Although, I do know where one is collecting dust............:D

Problem is, HOW do I "allocate" $4K-ish, to begin with, without the wife realizing something is amiss? She's a shooter (a damn good one too), has her own collection, and tolerates my insatiable thirst for "things that go bang" quite well. But, even she has her "line-in-the-sand" limits. I wonder if they do long-term layaway?

Beyond that, nothing really jumps out at me. Of course, I wasn't "looking" for anything last week when I walked in to chat with a gun-shop buddy, and walked out with a nice Chiappa .22 plinker for cheap 1911 practice either.

So, I guess I'm "satisfied", until I go to a gun show or gun shop, again.

Ruger No. 1 Stainless in in .45/70 and I'm done. Picked up a Marlin 336C in .35 Remington this weekend. I have stuff and not enough time to enjoy them.
Oh yeah, maybe a Beretta over/under in 20 gauge... haven't really made a firm decision on that yet...;)
Sometimes when you have to start thinking about swapping stuff out, you're getting close.

Need:
1903 A3 Springfield
Colt SAA
AR 15
Ruger Security 6 *

* I Sold mine by mistake ( the mistake was listening to my wife when she said" I think you should sell that gun now that we have a baby in the house" 1975

Needs are few & wants are many, but if I had to prioritize:

M-1
1911 45 ACP
Winchester Model 12
1903 Springfield

A decent SxS coach gun

I've apparently developed a keen interest in US combat arms recently....

Looking to get an AK74 soon in 5.45x39. Would like to pick up a Mosin soon thereafter. I have almost no experience with open sights on a rifle yet, so depending on how well I like them I might look to pick up a cheaper AK47 in 7.62x39 after the Mosin.

Mostly the stuff on my wish list right now though is optics for the rifles I already have.

well, there are always a few on the short wish list (some of which come and go on the list without ever having been bought)
but I have been "comfortable" for a long time in having "everything" I really really want (but it took me 40 years to get "there")

I don't do gun shows much, because when I do, I find myself hardly ever pausing to look seriously at anything, except what I already have

then again... day ain't over with, yet

My short list that I would be pretty satisfied with.

1) AK-47
2) Good dependable high capacity handgun of medium caliber (.40, .45, 357 sig, 10mm, whatever is your poison) It will be a Glock 22 or 23 for me.
3) Remington 870, cause it just doesn't stop, change out the trim and you can have a HD gun, a bird gun, or a slug gun.
4) A quality .22 rifle, whatever floats your boat.
5) A quality .22 pistol, I like the Sig Mosquito.
6) A large caliber rifle, I'm partial to a .270.

Of course this isn't the list of "What would you buy if you hit the lotto?" This is pretty much my list of "If I had a collection and had to sell, these are the guns that absolutely would not go." Sign of the times I suppose.

I still need a:

Sharps, 32-34", vernier sight, .45-120/140
Single Action Army
Mare's Leg (sawed off 1892)
Thompson M1927 with drum and mags
M1 Garand
Auto-Mag
Luger

I'm three pistols short of a full boat of Walthers at the moment, though that could change in the event that better examples pop up that could be used to upgrade the current herd. I still would like to get a GSP, and OSP, and a representative Olympic model.

I've more or less fallen out of love with the idea of having a tremendous collection of firearms.

In the last couple of years, my purchasing patterns have shifted from one of buying guns that just seem neat or cool to buying and modifying guns to fit specific niches.

So, the result is that I have guns that I'm much more likely to use on a regular basis, be it a shotgun set up for shooting 3gun, a pistol for shooting Bullseye, or a shotgun for home defense.

I just don't much see the point of amassing a huge collection of guns, especially when the money could be put to better use buying ammo and components, so I can really learn how to be as proficient as possible with the guns I've already got.

Of course, I do have a list, and if money were no impediment, the first two purchases would be a concealable pocket pistol along the lines of a Kahr PM9, and a purpose-built long-range sporting gun chambered in a caliber like 6xc or .260 Remington. After that, the closest I could come to having a legitimate reason for buying more guns would be to build redundancy into what I've already got, e.g. duplicates of my rifle, pistol, and shotgun for 3Gun.
