I use a 38 special case when measuring my 30-30. I have bumped them but I generally don’t. I prefer absolute sure functioning to increased case life.
Here’s a test I did that you might find interesting. Course, 30-30 is lower pressure and that matters. But still. Not every time someone resizes the max amount are they looking at minimum reloadings on their brass.
