Hello,
New to the forum. Was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of which generation Colt SAA a pistol is and approximate Date of manufacture and pricing? Alot to ask. It is a P-1750 SN SA26XXX. BTW it's a 5 1/2" 44 Special. Somewhere from the 70's I think. Thanks for any help!

You have a third generation (current style) revolver. It was made after 1980, and I would estimate during the middle 1880's to the middle 1990's. If you contact Colt's Customer Service Department they will probably give you the exact year. Value depends on what it is and what condition it's in. Unless there is something unusual about it I would say $1100.00 and downward.

Thank you Sir!

The pistol is NIB. It is not unturned. I thought the Serial Numbers ended in SA on the 3rd Generation. How would one go about contacting Colt. They don't have an email address the last I checked and I don't wish to spend a fortune on a letter. Thank you for your help!

Ever since Colt started making money on those high-priced letters they have been "careful" about giving out data for publication by others - reference books, Internet, etc.) but they will often answer a question about a particular gun ask by an individual.

Contact information will be found at the following link:

Thank you Gentlemen. Do you believe this firearm will continue to accrue value? Me I think I'd prefer a 4 3/4 in 45LC. Thanks for your responses. Take care.
