Hello, I know it is a model 37 Featherlight but they all are featherlights. Is this a field grade standard or a economy? Some of these old boys are worth a pretty penny.

All the model 37 receivers have the same dog scene... even the one on my Deer Slayer Police Special.

It is the stock set on the gun. The plain jane models did not come with any checkering and no grip cap.

After the addition of checkering the wood grades went up also the forearm changes to one that is checkered. Your's has the corn cob type.

The receiver picture show a lot of surface rust and buggered screws. All that detracts from the value. What is on the barrel, looks like some type of camo. paint?

A picture of the butt stock would help and what is the choke.

Please note: not all of the receiver's have the roll engraving on the sides. Some models in the past were plain sides.

selling for $350 seems a bit much

A guy is selling it for $350 or best offer on a facebook site. Someone commented that it is worth much more. I know it is not a higher grade gun by what I read on the bluebook. I just want to make a smart offer on it. I think I can redo it and make a nice gun out of it.

Start at $250 offer, you can always bargain up but never down.

It is a older model so barrels will not interchange and you are stuck with a fixed choke. Point out the buggered screws and that the stocks will have to be sent out for refinishing. Not to mention the condition of the bluing, factory reblue will be $200-$300. Ask if has ever serviced by a gun smith that did a complete tear down.

Look at the gun as a project, it can be returned to original with refinishing or up graded with better wood.

You won't find a better pump gun for hunting than a Ithaca.

If your looking at it as a HD gun then go looking for a Mossberg 500 or a older Wingmaster 870.
