What have you done in the reloading room today

Very nice. I always wanted to be a grandfather. That always seemed like one of the rewards of aging and retirement to me. Unfortunately, I decided to skip the "Middle" step and bypass having children, so that put a damper on having grandchildren.

I never thought about putting an LED light on my RCBS Rock Chucker. Interesting. When I bought it in the 90s, there of course were no LED lights. Now that there are, I have to think about doing that. A good idea that never even crossed my mind until I saw your post.

I put KMS lights on all 3 of my presses. Really like em.

Thank you. I didn't even know these existed. But it should not surprise me. I Googled KMS and they look great. Only $25 for a universal light that will fit my Rock Chucker. Why not?

Well, that's the ballgame for me. I am ordering one.

I didn’t see one for a C press. Would be nice to illuminate both my C’s

Interesting.

You don't think you could use their Universal Light kit OFFERED HERE for your C press with some type of modification? With the wire attachment kit (just a couple of bucks extra) and the bendable and cutable LED strip, there may be a few possibilities for attachment to a C press. Just a thought.

I also ordered the dimmer, wire management and the DC extension cord kits for for my LED light. Not much extra for these accessories at all.

What did I do reloading? I discovered my note card that was stuck to the inside of my ammo box with duct tape to prevent it from blowing away did indeed blow away… and I found it again… and I didn’t use fine sharpie on this one, so the notes are gone (got wet) before I transferred them to my log… I know I stopped the 308 ladder at 44 gr of varget, and I do have a note telling me most accurate was between 43-44… I checked bullet inventory(165 Sierra TGK) and by that count, it looks like I loaded a ladder for that range… & I distinctly remember writing the label for it and taping it shut to prevent a spill…but… where is it? I believe it may be at my folks in my rifle range box… hunting for and figuring that out was all I’ve done today… the good news is, I know the missing ammo box with the missing ladder has all the info I need…

You absolutely sure your not collecting social security yet 🤣

The way my shoulder has felt this last week, I think I might be drawing it next week…🤣🤣
ETA: part of why I don’t remember, is I’m better than a month overdo on a “scheduled” rifle range trip thanks to said shoulder… & the one before was scratched thanks to a funeral… so it’s been like… 3+ months instead of a couple weeks…

Well I think for my very first batch they turned out pretty dang good! I’m very happy. I know what I need to do to improve the process. Better containers, cleaner prep, warming the lead prior to coating etc. couple boo boos in there but I’m VERY pleased and it was fun!View attachment 1205968View attachment 1205969View attachment 1205971View attachment 1205970
Way to go!

I spent the day in the kitchen doing lunch and dinner prep for the week. But last night I counted out 100 Speer and 100 Hornady swaged LRN for loading this week. I have primed and unprimed brass ready to go for some Police Service loads.

I’m trying to use up some left over stuff. I have 14 Acme bullets, 50 some odd 150 grain Interlock bullets, 6 dozen 160 grain FTX all for 30-30. I’m tumbling brass as I type. The Acmes have a load. I want to verify my old load with the FTX bullet and test a new load for the Interlocks that’s down around the 1800-1900 fps mark. This puts them in the 1000 ft-lb range for my hair brained HD load. Then I’ll pull the scope off the 336 and put the Williams receiver sight back on.

I’m also trying to use up some partial boxes of 357 Mag bullets. I loaded 25 rounds of 125 grain XTPs and have about triple that in 158 grain XTPs. I have good loads for each so I’ll load them for a rainy day when hollow points might be really necessary. They’re too expensive to shoot for fun.

Now you have to smash one flat with a hammer to test the bond. If it's good your ready to load.
