What have you done in the reloading room today

I put my press back in the quick locks. Restocked the powder from the “bench in a box”… tomorrow is back to the grind… was supposed to pick up a box of 110 gr vmax to make coyote medicine… and they messed up inventory, so I’m getting it shipped to my door for free(I find Scheels customer service refreshing).

Have you tried the 110gr CX bullets? I need to get some 165gr ones for my M1 to test out...

Did you happen to see and 150 30-30 berry's. I never see any on a shelf. Been looking about a year.

AJC1
THE CABELAS IN LACY DOWN BY OLYMPIA HAD ONE BOX OR 150 GRAIN 30-30 BULLETS.
I PICKED THEM UP SO IF YOU WANT THEM SEND ME A PM AND WE CAN WORK IT OUT.
They were $30.99
$33.93 with tax.
If you don't want them I'll list them on the local gun forum.

I’ve looked at them. They look impressive, but They’re not really what I’m looking for in a varmint bullet, though I am interested in that New vmatch or whatever it is called.

What do you mean 2023? All of last year’s brass?

I need a barrel. 🤣🤣
Ha Ha! :) I probably don't pick up as much brass as you guys but last years collections were below average.

This tub is Stainless Steel with a handle on both sides and is slightly smaller than a bushel basket. I deprime the brass as I collect it and then after hunting season I sort it, tumble it and store it away. Or load it! Prolly more info than you wanted!!! :)

I couldn’t do that. Don‘t know if it’s an official disorder but I am unable to comfortably have dirty brass hanging around.

In fact I have about 100 dirty decapped and sized 9mm right now and it bothers me. But 100 just isn’t enough reason to run the wet tumbler. Doesn’t do a great job with that few. So, I’ll have to wait till next week to get another 100. Happens every other week.

I think a borderline example of that disorder at the range would be standing in the ejection pattern of a shooter with a catcher's mitt.

Assembled & tested .357 Mag 158 gr. Berry's Thick Plated TC on top of 7.3 grs. of BE-86. They do about 1025 FPS from Mama's 4" Security Six.

I’ve been known to spread a small tarp or a blanket…
Beats hunting around in the grass on your hands and knees, that's for sure. Of course, shooting revolvers obviates the need for either one.

Back on thread topic, I loaded 300 more rounds of 9mm with Berry's 124-grain HBFP over the holiday weekend. That finishes up my buddy's Christmas present. Interestingly, I found they won't plunk in my new Taurus G2c (my first auto loader). Apparently the throat on that model is on the short end of the SAAMI specs, and the Berry's bullet taper is such that this issue is not unheard of. I needed to start at minimum charge level to work up a load for the gun anyway, but glad I thought to try plunking a couple of these while I had them on the bench.

I upset a few people by carrying a shop vac and an inverter in my truck and vacuuming up everything in a 20’ radius of the firing line. 😁

I got a lot of dirt and trash - and ants - but I also got about 5gal of brass in under 5 minutes. Lots of rimfire but back then I didn’t mind too much because it is recyclable.

You’d be surprised how mean people can get when you take away their freebies! 😳

I don't get mad at the guy who out thinks me, tests more, practices harder or does a better job at the bench. Learn and improve.

Decapping 9mm… ya…it’s no blade mic, bit since everything else is .331ish, I’m gonna say it was pretty hot!
Working through the rest of the coffee can of 9mm. 1 more load to wet tumble and then it’s time to sort!

Sized some .300 blackout brass. All of my GFL head stamp had badly off center flash holes and were getting a ring on the base after sizing (cartridge base measured at .376") and the LC(.372), JAG(.373), and Starline(.373) were all good to go. Guess I'll have to cull my GFL brass!

I'm finally back up and running. Yea it sure took me long enough, but the last few months of the yr was one thing after another topped off with a 7 day 12 hour schedule. Ran 150 44 specials last night for the first operation in the new room, loving life. The only problem I'm encountering is the cats seem to have taken over since I got it all set up.
Gonna run some 357s tonight for laughs and maybe, just maybe, I'll find some time this weekend to get out back and make some noise
Life's good

This morning I started wet tumbling last years collection of range brass. Probably tumble 2 or 3 loads today, 2 or 3 tomorrow and maybe finish up on Friday. Thats the plan anyway!
