What have you done in the reloading room today

Primed 536 6.5 CM brass.
You'll need some "Propel" after that session!

I didn't do much today.
This three day snow is wearing on me, but I did get back in "The Room" this afternoon for a bit.

Separated by headstamp the 400 plus 38 Special brass that is ready to load.
Lotsa "Winchester" brass.
Which is nice but once again caused me to notice something as I am sure many do........

Not the best picture....
It is just how headstamps change over time whether due to tooling wearing out or being replaced.
Left one's font is a bit smaller than the middle one and the one on the right has a "ring" around the base.

Does not matter for my shooting.

But this does!

Loading and shootin' nostalgia! ;)

Cleaned my 100 .357 cases. Hand agitated bubble bath with side of vinegar vinaigrette and then a visit to what’s called “The Impaler”View attachment 1201875
For more than 10 years I washed brass in hot soapy water - when I cleaned it at all beyond wiping with a rag.

I didn't own a tumbler, which didn't really become popular until some time in the 90s. One could tell always see who was shooting reloads back then; their brass was brown. Some would use vinegar or citric acid to shine the brass, some didn't bother.

And I certainly never had, or had even seen, anything like The Impaler.

Cast a few boolits today, and broke out the Lyman lubrasizer. Got it temp mounted and found the "die"I wanted to run. Ran out of play time so I'll continue playing with it after work. It's full of a red grease which I don't know if it's for rifle or pistol? I also need to hunt down the op handle and a top punch. Figure it's time to learn about the old craft to see if it can add value to my operation. 1711589494626556448791352605419.jpg

The cheat for solid sticks is to melt them in a bain-marie and pour them into the Lubrisizer’s well. Let it cool for just a few seconds before putting the cap back on. Works great and the solid sticks are usually cheaper.
I have the hollow sticks, but if I was making my own lube I'd warm and filler up as you describe. The lube is cheap on an each basis. The real cost is in gas checks.

Who makes that scale? Looks nice. And, who's trickler is that? You guys and your new gadgets!:D

I hooked up my Elite 3D (Ebay) primer catcher. Very nice! It fixes the weak point of the Rockchucker and should help keep spent primers off of the floor and that nasty primer dust out of my system.

Per usual for me I didn't think this through and didn't get the optional primer catcher box. I had to improvise something, and ended up with this arrangement:'

If I live long enough to have to empty that bottle, I'll have lived a good life (I load much of my ammo on a Dillon too). I'm pretty well caught up with my sizing needs, but ran 10 .223's through to check it out. Flawless!

Like the trickler. How high from the bottom of the trickler to the bottom of the trickling tube both high and low?
