What have you done in the reloading room today

Well, I just got my RCBS portable digital scale for my range bag. It was shipped by a 3rd party seller from Amazon. Not exactly well packaged. The box looked a little travel-weary on one end.... luckily the powder pan end. I will test it later tonight and hopefully it will be OK and still accurate.

I also got the PRINTED powder trickler I ordered from eBay. It's larger than I had hoped, only because it is another item for the range bag for reloading remotely. It would have been great if it were about 30 percent smaller. But it's very well made - actually very well designed since it's printed, and the friction surfaces are indeed polished so it works very smoothly.

Thanks to @GeoDudeFlorida , also known as GDF The ENABLER, I also got my Lee Precision Powder Measure Kit. I did not realize it came with a powder charge sliding guide. A nice surprise.

So my reloading range bag is almost set. I am just missing the bag. Amazon notified me that it was damaged in shipping and that USPS was sending it back to Amazon. That's a first for me. So I had to order another one. It will be here Sunday.

@GeoDudeFlorida does it again!

Looks like this guy is out of business with these, as far as my research has concluded so far.

I also found THESE on AMAZON

Unfortunately, they only fit the Rock Chucker Supreme IV.
My press is an older Rock Chucker from 1993 ish. Way before the Supreme IV.

My Rock Chukar I posted earlier is from 1977-'78! Oldie, but, a goodie!

Nice. 1977 ish is only about 10 years removed from the original Rock Chucker debut. They are such solid presses, they are engineered to last a lifetime and then some.

I remember when I bought mine. I got the "Kit" with the Rock Chucker, Uniflow Powder Drop, Scale, Case Trimmer, lube pad, etc. It seemed very expensive to me at the time. But by today's standards? Dirt cheap.

Like yours, mine is 100 percent. Just barely broken in, even after 30 years. I won't need another in my lifetime, that's for sure. Neither will whomever gets the press after I'm toes-up.

I just pulled these out of the washer. I found them today at a local sporting goods store. I was surprised to find the Hornady T-Shirt. The Browning DoeBuck I have wanted in that particular color with large DoeBuck logo for a while.

It's funny how sizes run. The Hornady is a MEDIUM. Made in USA. The Browning is a LARGE. Made in Pakistan. They are both the same size.

It was Wheel Weight Friday today.

Just wrapped up counting and weighing all the lead COWW, made out with 18lbs 6oz this pick up which is well above average. Had a couple of good pick-ups in a row lately actually. But mostly it's just averaging out the times I only got 6-7lbs. My small 2-1/2 gal bucket is pretty much full and ready to join the 32gal trash can, I'll get it a weigh, note it down in the ledger and dump them with the rest.

Other stuff the last few days:

Loaded up another 38-55 ladder test.
Counted my .44 mag Starline shipment (1003, with one that had a dinged up mouth, good enough for snap cap if I reshape it but will never see primer or powder).
Checked out my new RCBS .44mag carbide die set that showed up today.

This morning I woke up super early (3am) for some reason.... Decided to run some 9mm on the six pack pro. Only had a little over 100 cases cleaned, so I ran 100, then decided to go turkey hunting then go to the range of it was a slow morning in the woods. It was a slow morning in the woods.

This evening I ran a load of 9mm in the wet tumbler, and while that was running I deprimed the brass from today's range trip. It's drying now.

My Lil Gun/220 Berry's .300 BLK subsonic load ran great again, and had BHO on each mag I tried on a VERY dirty upper.

150 interlocks and Lil Gun ran 1780 fps, and I didn't even load to max. I thought that was pretty darn good for an 8.3" barrel!

N135/77 SMKs shot very well, just a little slow velocity wise. My last 2 loads (22.5&22.8) both were .7" at 2628 and 2672fps, low ES/SD. Add another powder to go into detail with to the list!

PP Varmint/77smks didn't shoot very accurately at all 1.5-2moa for all loads, but ran an impressive 2803fps at max.

Sounds like a great morning. And a great evening. Even when nothing is found on the hunt, just being in the outdoors on the hunt in the cool quiet morning was always worth it to me.

I sometimes go through stints where I wake up at 3 or 4 AM and can not go back to sleep. I may follow your lead and hit the reloading bench next time that happens. Thanks for the idea.

There were 16 9mm cases extra after I filled out the 200rnd boxes so I primed them on the Ram using SyA SPP then filled them with 5.1gr of Unique and topped them with a bimetallic 115gr steel jacket FMJ-RN/SHB bullet from Russia (with Love?). I added them to a partial box of the same thing but primed with CCI 500’s. I’ll see how the Star Firestar likes those Argie primers and report back.

I had a great time in the woods, nice weather made for a very enjoyable time.

I have the random 3 am stints as well, and going down to reloading room bothers my wife less than tossing around in bed. I'm usually up at 5:30 for work anyway, but turkey hunting sounded much better than work this morning.

This vendor on Etsy made a primer catcher that works very well on my RCBS Jr. He also has a design for a Rock Chucker and RC II. And many other brands and models: 80 total.

Good to hear that you enjoyed the hunt, regardless of the outcome.

I almost got up at 3 AM today, but managed to fall back asleep until 6:30. But not to worry. I'm sure I'll be hitting my reloading bench in the wee hours soon enough.

Just got back from the reloading shop. Finally picked up all the goodies to load my latest caliber .41 magnum, really looking for some swc to load up some target loads. Thanks to @Mark_Mark I was able to pick up a set of Dillon dies and a conversion kit for early 2000 pricing. ;) View attachment 1207925
