What I found at Cabella’s

Please let this mean that inventory is coming back

Ditto! I’m beginning to suspect the whole Uberti staff died of Covid last year and cap makers all went into the primer business. Meanwhile real black powder is quickly becoming unobtainable.

I think it might illustrate a weird phenomenon in merchandise stocking. Years back my grocery store used to carry beef sticks. I’d stock up on a few containers once per week for the weekend, since it allowed me an easy protein snack during the lazy days. Sure enough, they stopped stocking them soon after, almost like I’d bought them too quickly for staff to recognize it was a new item that was running out quickly and they just failed to order more. I thought it must be a fluke until the exact same thing happened when I stocked up on green apple licorice. They haven’t had either item for the past 5 years.

A similar thing must be occurring with BP supplies. People might be buying them out so quickly it seems like retailers have somehow forgotten they ever stocked them in the first place. Maybe manufacturers are making the same error too. Do they even know we still buy the stuff?

I think its just that we are a small, niche market in a world where they can sell all they can make and more of the bulk stuff.

BPS in Savannah had those for about 2 months. I always saw the same number of them on display so i suppose no one was buying them for a month. Then one day they were gone and have not come back.

I intentionally opened the black powder section to ask if anyone knew where online #11 caps could be found, but then figured it would be like a self fulfilling prophesy once the location got out in print. I've got a cap maker but a hundred home made caps would be worth way too much of my time, though it's nice to have an option.

Just in case I'll check here tomorrow to see if anyone knew of a site. I normally buy by the 10 tin box, 1K caps.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Natchez has some.

I’ve got a Cva Electra. And with no need for primers, plus Substitute Black powder 777… Abundant- I can shoot that rifle a good bit, with a .50 cal mold

Well I got involved in business and forgot to check, it's 8:16 PM here. I clicked on the standard #11 caps for $79 and went to pay for them, a small banner at the bottom said they were out.

Like I said, self fulfilling prophecy for those who are late. I may have found some offshore, or it may be a scam. I'll let you all know if/when I get them, but even if I do get them I can't guarantee they aren't a scam.

I can scarcely drive off the thoughts that the whole ammo drought is engineered, and the more I see happening to our country in other areas the harder it becomes.

Thanks guys.

I found the same deal myself and wondered if it was legit. Please send word how it works out! For me, I go cap hunting around my local stores once every 6 months or so. Luckily they are generally in stock, if barely. My last trip, the guy at the counter said I had bought the first caps available in 8 months!

I don’t suspect the shortage is engineered. It seems that in the firearms trade, BP supplies are a last priority.
