What is it about "fit"?

After handling both the Condor (O/U) and Upland (SxS) offered by Stoeger/IGA, I decided that the SxS Upland felt better - more comfortable to hold and shoulder. After visiting the local skeet range I bought the Condor based on lots of advice, and the fact that at least half the shooters used O/U guns and I didn't see one SxS.
After a half dozen skeet sessions I understand their point about the O/U perhaps being quicker to get on target, but one thing has not changed. That is the "fit" and "feel". Something about the O/U makes it feel that I have to adjust my body parts to the gun, but the SxS just drops into place like I have used it my whole life.
I find it strange as both guns have 26" barrels and same LOP, DAC, and DAH.
Should I consider doing an exchange and going with what I feel, or am I too new at this to make a decision? Will a SxS be lousy for skeet?

An O/U with insufficient castoff (or cast on for lefties) will always come up out of line. A SxS shotgun has a wider (looking) sighting plan making this effect is less obvious.

I find, in general, Italian shotguns have very generous cast (Beretta, Franchi, Rizzini, Fausti), compared to similarly priced guns from other schools.

I follow this question with interest. I have a long-held love for SxS, and I want one. Badly. But I've never seen one on the range. I've heard that they're not ideal, because you're sighting down the center but shooting from the side, so the barrels aren't regulated to impact at point of aim at all ranges the way an OU is. In other words, you're shooting crossways compared to your bead.

I'd love to take a nice SxS to the trap/skeet range though, if nothing else just to be different.

I wonder about that POA/POI thing as well.
Patterning is done on a 30" circle, but barrels on a SxS are offset less than 1".

There are a lot of guys out there {like myself} that love SxS shotguns. I have 2 older double trigger SxS's. They are obviously field guns but I sometimes take them to the club and shoot 5 stand with them. Some of my best scores have been with the old SxS's.

They claim it's a problem with the sight plain, looking down 2 barrels. Maybe some barrel regulation thrown in there as well. I'm not buying it, unless your a top notch master, AAA or whatever skeet or trap shooter, don't worry about taking your SxS to the range and busting some clays with it.

O/u vs sxs

SXS BBLS coincide at approx 30 yds or so .I fdorget the dis.I shoot both.Favor sxs for nostalgia purposes.Comes into line same as any other gun.Don't worry about shooting across.Doesn't happen.OLd fella told me a mans' eyes are sxs,not o/u.Went pheasant hunting and shot both first day. Second, third and fourth day it was the venerable sxs.It just came naturally.

I doubt the dimensions of both guns were identical - that alone will lead one to fit better than another. My shotguns can range from 14-1/4 to 15" in LOP - it all depends on the gun action type, the style of the grip, the balance point, among other factors, as to whether I will be successful hitting my targets with it. Your focus needs to be on the bird, preferably with a long non-trigger arm. I see a lot of folks who are new to shotguns, but have shot rifles for eons, trying to stand and hold a shotgun like they are in a rifle match. I use O/U, SxS, and semi's on sporting clays - all will do the part when I do mine
