What is really the difference between a Russian and a Romanian AK-47?

Worst=Egyptian, Romanian, Polish in that order.

Such bad info there. Some collector grade AKMs are made from both those countries. Read about factory 54 in Maadi or factory 11 Lucznik(Radom) from Poland. Very uninformed response IMO. Steyr imports, PMKMS, Tantal just to name a few. Theres way more out there than just Century guns.

The only thing about the Arsenals that I have found brand new, is that they have sythetic stocks. I would love to have one with some wooden furniture.

SpentCasing, I'm not referring to "collector grade" akms that nobody shoots because it will affect the value and mar the pretty surface finish.
I'm talking about genuine select fire AKM assault rifles.

Century Arms garbage doesn't even classify as a functional firearm in my opinion.

To Dream, Do you know a place that gets rid of the Arsenals for $800? My local place has them for a little over $1000. I'm looking for wood furniture.

Scottsdale Gun Club has SGL-21s for 699.

I bought three of them there. One for me, one for my son and one for my son in law. A great price.

I know Century has a reputation for inconsistent quality control, but to imply that most (never mind all) Century imports are nonfunctional is IMO nonsensical. For years my primary rifle (recreational, USPSA, and HD) was a 2002 Century-imported SAR-1 that I purchased in 2003, and in 8 years and plenty of shooting I have had exactly zero failures of any kind.

Fit and finish is "industrial", certainly, and as collectors' items or safe queens they would certainly lose out to more finely finished AK's, but as shooters the vast majority of Century guns work fine.

Ok so if fit and finish is not an important factor, what is it about Polish and Egyptian AKMs that make them inferior to the others you had listed? Factory 54 was built and trained by Russians.(See: 6 day war) Pretty sure you wont say Russians cant make em right. I have never heard of performance issues with Polish makes either. (since Century builds also dont count)

I called your opinion uninformed because I have yet to see any evidence to your claim nor have you provided any. Im not trying to beat you up, if you're right it would be new info to me.
